Brittany Murphy’s husband Simon Monjack has accused the media of publishing unfair stories about him following his wife’s tragic death – insisting the press is targeting him because he is not an attractive Hollywood star. Murphy passed away earlier this month, December 2009 after suffering a cardiac arrest at her Hollywood Hills home in Los Angeles.

Monjack is adamant many of the reports that have surfaced after Murphy’s death have been unfairly negative, with some publications detailing his past financial problems and calling him a “conman.” And the British screenwriter is convinced he is being victimized by the press because he doesn’t compare to his wife’s ex-boyfriend, actor Ashton Kutcher.

He tells Britain’s Daily Mail newspaper, “I know I have been called a conman. I am not perfect. I never said I was. But there has been so much rubbish written about me and Brittany. Most of what you read is made up. My problem is that I do not look like Ashton Kutcher… Nor do they like the fact that she married someone who was not famous. (In Hollywood), stars like stars to marry other stars.”

And Monjack has slammed reports which suggested his late wife was taking a dangerous cocktail of prescription drugs before her death, insisting most of the pill bottles which officials found in their home were old.

He adds, “I know what the inference is by all those pills. That she was some kind of addict, but addicts hide away their pills. They do not leave them on the nightstand like Brittany. Some of them were old and date back to when Brittany had some ailment or other. You know how people accumulate things and never throw them away.”

Jennifer was accompanied by her mother and father who where in town for the Christmas festivities. During the hour playtime, Jen carried youngest daughter Seraphina over to the slide, where big sister Violet waited and together they slid down. Seraphina was also treated to a rocking horse ride while Jennifer’s parents kept a close eye on Violet and helped push her on the swings.

Jon Gosselin’s apartment in New York City has been vandalized, UsMagazine.com confirms.

The reality star, 32, found his bachelor pad burglarized and ransacked when he returned on Saturday after spending Christmas with his eight children in Pennsylvania, his rep tells Us.

“This is no minor incident,” Gosselin’s rep tells Us. “The police are investigating. He walked into his apartment and it was a disaster. The couch was cut up, his kids’ Wii is missing, his blu ray DVD player is gone, the pots and pans are gone, the couch was sliced up, all of his clothes and shoes are all sliced and torn up. And the knives were left in there.”

According to a source, there was $100,000 worth of damage. In addition, a source claims the word “cheater” was carved into the bed headboard and that a butcher knife was used to slice open the mattress.

Another source adds that there was a note on the counter with a knife sticking through it with the signature of what appears to be that of ex-girlfriend Hailey Glassman.

“Is it convenient that Hailey was just there and moved out this week?” the source says. “Everything was fine, they were friends, talking from time to time, him and Kate are cool and he has to come home to the city to this? Who else would do this? It’s sick, like a case of Fatal Attraction.”

Although it is still unclear if Glassman, 22, ransacked the apartment, she posted her frustration about her living situation with Gosselin on Twitter Friday.

“FYI That apartment everyone calls Jon’s apartment was my apartment as well,” she Twittered. “We split rent! He’s been living off my family and I.”

She also posted that her family “found out a week ago he’s been pocketing our rent money ‘n not paying the rent!”

Charlie Sheen has been arrested on felony domestic violence charges.

He was taken into custody at 11:20 a.m. Christmas Day after police responded to a 911 call at a home in Aspen, Colorado.

Booked under his real name, Carlos Irwin Estevez, the 44-year-old actor — who is wed to Brooke Mueller — was placed under arrest for second-degree assault, felony menacing and a misdemeanor charge of criminal mischief, according to the Pitkin County Sheriff’s Department.

According to the statement, the victim in the incident did not require transportation to the hospital.

Sheen was released Friday at 7 p.m. on a $8,500 bond. He is due in court on Feb. 8.

A rep for Sheen tells Us: “Do not be misled by appearance. Appearance and reality can be as different as night and day. It would benefit everyone not to jump to any conclusion.”

Sheen and Mueller welcomed twins, Max and Bob, this year.

UPDATE: Law enforcement sources tell TMZ … Brooke Mueller was legally drunk when she called 911 on Charlie Sheen … and, we’ve learned, Brooke has fessed up that her allegation was phony.

Sources say authorities gave both Charlie and Brooke blood alcohol tests. Brooke registered a .13 while Charlie registered a .04. By the way, the 911 call came in at 8:34 AM on Christmas day.

We’re also told Brooke recanted her story to a female officer just before the bail hearing, telling the cop she was drunk when she made the 911 call. Nevertheless, law enforcement sources say police will still pursue the case — at least for now.

We’ve also learned Sheen has hired well-known Colorado attorney Richard Cummins to represent him.

Cops responded to the 911 call, arrived at the home and Sheen was arrested after Brooke claimed he assaulted her. Charlie was booked for two felonies and one misdemeanor relating to domestic violence.

As we first reported, Sheen told law enforcement Brooke was the aggressor and he was just trying to defend himself.

Charlie’s next court date is set for February 8.
