A-Rod Pal on Split: Kate “Always Wanted to Be on Camera”
A movie star is always a movie star — even when she’s at Yankee Stadium, cheering on her boyfriend at the World Series. In the wake of Monday’s announcement that Kate Hudson and Alex Rodriguez have ended their six-month relationship, a Rodriguez source tells Us that the actress’ less-than-subtle presence at Yankee games was “a turnoff” to Rodriguez.
“[Hudson] wanted more camera time each and every game,” the pal tells Usmagazine.com. “She would always want to be styled before games and she’d insist on front-row seats.” Her motivation, the friend says, was more of a PR move than genuine devotion. “It was a turnoff to have a girlfriend who always wanted to be on camera,” the source quips. “Alex wanted someone who was more interested in building a long-term relationship than just building their profile.”
For those confused by the timeline of the couple’s split and who initiated what, the A-Rod friend insists that “he broke up with her over a week ago,” but they continued to spend time together publicly after the fact. “Alex wanted to end this relationship well over a month ago,” the source says, but the baseball star, 34, didn’t want to disrupt Hudson’s premieres and promotional events for her new film Nine. “He felt that would be counterproductive and unfair to her.”
And while many reports claim that a jealous Rodriguez “smothered” Hudson, 30, the friend suggests the opposite was the case, observing, “She seemed compelled to track and follow his every move” during his busy pre- and post-season schedule. MORE at the source

I don’t know if I believe this story, because I saw pics of her at some of his games, and she sure didn’t look like a movie star, no makeup, hair in a pony tail…just like a regular girl…

Not that she’s a whiz, but it seems that most of the relationships fail between actresses and pro athletes on account of the guys have little education [historically most baseballers skipped college] and are shy outside the confines of sports. And most guys [non-pros included] who are extremely into sports, watching or playing, really prefer the company of other guys.

angelo: back in the day many ball players could skip college and go pro but i believe that has changed a lot. many go to school and be recruited before they finish, and many go to school on their off time or finish after their ball playing is over with, so no, most do have some kind of education. and going to college doesnt mean u have sense, u can have all the education in the world and still be dumb with no common sense, so what u said is not all the time true. and where do u get the fact that these people are shy outside of ball playing is beyond me. one thing u said that i agree with is the fact that many men like to watch sports with ohter men just like most women would rather go to the mall with other women, so what? that has nothing to do with kate at a ball game.

I find the article to be totally false. I am a diehard Phillies fan and was at game 4 of the world series. I was in row behid the visitor’s dugout (Yankees) and Kate Hudson and Kurt Russell were approximately 4 rows behind me. She was not dressed like a movie star and her hair was a mess. She had on minimal makeup. What WAS disgustig was ARod constantly lookig at her and Kurt Russell in the stands and winking at them. The only player with any class on that team is Derek Jeeter.

Not buying it since she looked like every other fan in the stands. Never struck me as a love match. I would guess this was about fun and now they’ve moved on and there’s nothing wrong with that.
