AskMen.com the world’s largest lifestyle portal for men with more than 11 million visitors monthly, revealed its highly anticipated 4th annual reader-voted list of the Top 49 Most Influential Men of 2009 today.
The list assembles a diverse collection of men from around the world and from a variety of industries including entertainment, politics, technology, and sports. All the honorees had a direct effect on the way men see the world, and notably in 2009, many reflect classic values that are most meaningful to the male identity today.
“In a turbulent 2009, men are seeking the stability of tradition in the masculine qualities that they imagine their fathers and grandfathers to have had,” says James Bassil, Editor-in-Chief of AskMen.com. “The character of Don Draper brings all these traits together, and in doing so speaks directly to the modern man. He’s a man whose time has come.”
Others on the list embody a host of classic qualities; Usain Bolt as the personification of competitive and athletic ability, President Barack Obama as the male portrait of classic statesmanship, Mark Zuckerberg and Steve Jobs as pillars of entrepreneurial spirit and determination.

Following the footsteps of some other Hollywood gay celebs, actor Bryan Batt is planning to marry his longtime same-sex partner, events planner Tom Cianfichi. A source is quoted as telling National Enquirer, the pair who has been together for more than eighteen years is planning a Christmas wedding.
“They’re leaning toward a Christmas wedding in Vermont,” reveals the source. “Bryan is at the top of his game professionally, and they’ve never been happier.”
Wedding arrangements reportedly have been worked on by Bryan and Tom. They “already consider themselves married, and are registered as domestic partners in New Orleans,” claims an insider. “Tom’s working on the wedding arrangements, and with their combined style and taste; it’s certain to be a big event. They intend to pull out all the stops.”
Nevertheless, possible wedding venue and invited guests are not mentioned. Bryan himself is yet to comment on the wedding report.
On screen, Bryan Batt is best known for his role as Salvatore Romano in AMC’s TV series “Mad Men”. Besides, he also has some starring roles in big screen flicks in addition to starring in some Broadway plays.

In addition to apologizing to his wife Regina Lasko, David Letterman also poked fun at the $2 million sexual extortion plot against him.
“I got in the car this morning and the navigation lady wasn’t speaking to me,” he deadpanned on his show Monday.
Talking about the cool fall weather, he said, “It’s chilly outside my house; chilly inside my house.”
He also joked about what he’ll do next.
“This is only phase one of the scandal,” he began. “Phase two: Next week I go on Oprah and sob.”
His guests also had fun at Letterman’s expense.
Steve Martin told the embattled late night host that the incident “proves that you’re a human being. And we weren’t really that sure before.”
Letterman played along. When guest Martin Short sat on Martin’s lap, he joked, “You spend one more minute on his lap, you’re gonna get blackmailed.”

Karina Smirnoff recently told Life & Style she’s still getting along with ex-fiancé Maksim Chmerkovskiy, but Maks had a different take on their two-step when Life & Style asked if he and Karina are still friends. “No,” he said at the LA County Fair on Sept. 27. “She’s a lot better at hiding her feelings apparently than I am. I just need to drop the sad person act and move on.”
After a nine-month engagement, the Dancing With the Stars duo called it quits in September, but have to see each other daily on the ABC hit, where he’s partnered with actress Debi Mazar and she’s dancing with singer Aaron Carter. “I hate the situation with Karina because it’s really gotten blown out of proportion,” Maks tells Life & Style. “It’s done. It’s over with.”
