She is dumb as a rock. Does she think drug dealers are going to run out and get a job if drugs become legal? Really? Crime would go “way down” Adrienne? What exactly does the legality of the issue have to do with the fact that the millions of hard core drug users DON’T HAVE JOBS AND STEAL FOR THE MONEY TO BUY DRUGS?
Do you realize how many more people would become addicts just because it would be legal to try it?
Seriously, just STFU.

She is exactly right. Let the trillions used in a useless \"war\" instead be used to fight addictions. Making drugs illegal only makes criminals rich, and a LOT of people die. Overnight legalization could cut the murder rate drastically, as well as free up an incredible amount of money to combat the problem of addiction -which in case you haven\’t noticed only has gotten worse with our current system. But of course our current system keeps criminal druglords and private prison operators really rich, cant stop that!
And think about the taxes we can rake in to pay for even more stuff, like HEALTH care, even if we only legalized marijuana (which NO ONE is addicted to) it would make a huge positive difference.

actually, she has a point…i agree to legalize it all, and sell it in liquor-type stores…..hey, drug dealers could simply open their own business instead of worrying about being arrested…there are certain people out there that are gonna buy whether we like it or not..its our choice as it is to do that shit or not so does it even matter…

The dealers won’t set up shop-they won’t want to pay taxes. The thing that bothers me about her statement is that she is a former addict. She doesn’t strike me as being very bright. Maybe just a case of not thinking before she speaks.

Hey you know how many drug dealers get WELFARE? I know multiple dealers who get a 1000 bucks a month!I hate drug dealers… but I need the weed. Me, being a skinny little white girl, doesn’t not like going to a drug dealer and it would be 100x safer to just sell it in stores – hell it’s way less harmful than cigarettes and alcohol, so I don’t really see why not. You can judge and call me an idiot, but you don’t become an RN and succeed through 4 years of university to be an idiot. And this isn’t about getting drug dealers to ‘set up shop’ it’s about getting rid of drug dealers and having drugs government regulated – so it would be like going to the LCBO – they’re all government workers. You can’t have a criminal history and work these kind of jobs. Drug dealers live a ‘lifestyle of crime’ so even if drugs are regulated, the bad people will still be bad people, but the [mostly] ‘good’ people trying to buy drugs will not be punished and waste tax dollars in jail, not to mention ruining their chances of getting a decent job and leaving the country over a [for the most part] minor offense such as possession… I could rant on all day but half of you are probably 13 year olds who have no idea what I’d be talking about… and Curry is still an idiot.

And sure hardcore drug users don’t have jobs @ Geez, but at least if it’s government regulated, they could set up programs to help stop abuse, but if these people keep going back to the drug den, no one is going to be there to tell them that. And if it is government regulated, crime will go down, because less people will use drug dealers, who are pretty much the only people I know that I can buy a gun off of, or who would actually use guns/knives. Sure, it won’t fully stop drug dealing, but how many people do you know sell moonshine or black-market cigarettes? Probably none. Plus if it is government regulated they would probably only be able to sell certain amounts to people – kind of like a pharmacy. And if it’s only marijuana, it’s cheap, easy to grow and you can never overdose on it – unlike alcohol or nicotine – and it has far less harmful affects on the body. And if you also look back in semi-recent history (only 100 years ago, not even) they sold cocaine for tooth aches and heroin as a pain reliever – of course these things are addictive but if you use it responsible (i.e. only when you have a tooth ache) you’re not going to become a crackie-Winehouse. People like you really need to think and read some statistics… hell even just learn some bloody history. Plus, you know the majority of heavy-duty pain killers CONTAIN OPIUM! Oh no, heroin in a different form! :’( stop being an idiot. More people were alcoholics in the time of prohibition than there is now. And yes little 12 year-old, alcohol is a drug.
