Tyra Banks has explained her decision to ditch her fake hair extensions during an upcoming episode of her CW chatshow.
The America’s Next Top Model host previously declared that September 9 would be ‘National Hair Day’ and that she would be revealing her real locks in order to promote natural beauty.
Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, she said: “I feel like it’s my responsibility. I’ve shown myself with no makeup, cellulite on my butt, untouched photos of myself, but I haven’t really shown my hair.
“It’s a mystery. People are like, ‘Does she have any hair?’ Young girls come up to me all the time and say, ‘I want to look like you, be like you.’ I want to show them what I really look like.”
Banks will unveil her real hair on he opening episode of The Tyra Banks Show, which airs tomorrow.

Lady GaGa has revealed how she used to consume “bags and bags of cocaine” while listening to British rock band The Cure.
The Just Dance hitmaker, real name Stefani Germanotta, says she used to sit at home and snort cocaine on her own.
“My cocaine soundtrack was The Cure,” she said. “I loved all their music, but I listened to this one song on repeat while I did bags and bags of cocaine. ‘Whatever I do/It’s not enough.’ Isn’t that funny?
“At the time I didn’t think there was anything wrong with me until my friends came over and said, ‘Are you doing this alone?’ Um, yes. Me and my mirror.”
GaGa, 23, recently revealed that she isn’t keen on her fellow celebrities.
“I prefer non-famous people who have The Fame,” she said. “I myself don’t like celebrities. It’s the idea that you can be whoever you want to be. You don’t have to be a victim of your environment. You can become the image of yourself you project, [that] you could become in the future.
“I just haven’t had an excellent personal experience with celebrities. But I’m sure there are a few lovely ones. I have made a few friends, of course.”
