Eliza Dushku, led by boyfriend Rick Fox surveys and autographs the waves of scantily clad photos of herself as she attends the grand opening of Club MI-6 in Los Angeles on Sept 16, 2009.
They seem like a really odd couple to me. He’s 40, she’s 28 – which isn’t too bad. But he just seems sooo much older, for some reason. Rick was married to Vanessa Williams for 5 years, and they have a daughter together. Vanessa filed for divorce, after The National Enquirer published pictures of Fox kissing another woman in 2004.

What do you think of her dress? I think she looks beautiful!
In Love and Other Impossible Pursuits, Portman takes on her first leading role as a fully grown woman, navigating the dilemmas of family for the first time.
Families never turn out quite according to plan, and Emilia Greenleaf (Portman) certainly never imagined herself the shunned stepmother. But after winning Jack (Scott Cohen) away from his wife Carolyn (Lisa Kudrow), she finds herself immersed in the cross-currents of a new hybrid family. Now second wife to her former lover, she’s forced to work out new relationships with her unco-operative stepson and his acerbic mother, who is still very much in the boy’s life.
Shadowing Emilia’s every attempt to get to know the stubborn, precocious young William (Charlie Tahan) is the unbearable loss of a baby she and Jack had hoped would cement their new marriage. Ostracized for wrecking Jack’s previous life and berated by Carolyn at every opportunity, Emilia increasingly distances herself from Jack, and is in danger of drowning in domestic disappointment.
Roos has made a career of crafting rich, layered roles for leading women. He allows his female characters to show the full range of their complicated selves, deepening our empathy as we follow their struggle. And he always leavens his portraits with humour. Watching Emilia grapple with William’s elaborate dietary requirements is to glimpse what it’s like to raise a child in Manhattan.
Roos directs Kudrow to a great performance, and gives Portman the room to show some of the fire she brought to Closer. Emilia is a woman who shuttles from grief to helplessness to anger, until she begins to find a way to define herself again. In all her conflicted glory, she is a wonder to behold.

Charlize Theron has spoken about her decision to appear nude on the big screen, saying people’s perception that she ”loves walking around naked” is wrong.
The ‘Burning Plain’ actress – who appears naked in the first scene of the movie, and has also stripped off in ‘Monster’ and ‘The Devil’s Advocate’ – insists she only flashes flesh on film if it is integral to the storyline.
She explained: “I’m not some exhibitionist. I think people think I just love walking around naked.
“When you start making it about yourself, you stand in the way of doing your job. I have to sit in an editing room with the director and a bunch of execs, and if I had to sit there and think about myself and these men watching me, I think that would make me insecure. I’m just like every other girl out there. I would cringe.”
The 34-year-old actress added making ‘The Burning Plain’ – in which she stars as Sylvia, a woman who found out her mother was having an affair when she was a teenager – made her think about her own upbringing.
Charlize’s parents had a turbulent relationship, culminating in her father being shot dead by her mother after he attacked her when Charlize was 15.
She told the USA Today newspaper: “I looked at my parents and I was so judgmental, and you don’t understand the struggles of what it is to be in a marriage and be committed and raise children and to be part of a family.
“Their marriage wasn’t great. As a child, you see things very differently, and then I got older and I went, ‘Wow, that’s amazing.’ You start going out with a couple of boys, and some of them aren’t so nice. There’s a lot more that plays into this whole relationship thing than you think.”

Jennifer Connelly and her husband Paul Bettany are big fans of camping holidays – because photographers refuse to trail them during the “unglamourous” breaks.
The Hollywood couple, who wed in 2003, has blasted other stars who complain about the paparazzi – insisting it’s easy to find privacy away from the media.
They enjoy heading out on vacation to the countryside with their six-year-old son Stellan, and 11 year old Kai, from Connelly’s previous relationship, despite the harsh living conditions.
Bettany says, “Three weeks ago me and my missus and the kids were covered in mud for three days, because we got rained on from a great height when we were camping in the White Mountains (in New Hampshire)… It’s like proper camping out in the wild with bear canisters – you have to go and put your food 800 yards away in case the bears smell it.
“There’s no comfort, no blow-up beds or anything – you’re just in a tent and you fire up a little Primus (camping stove) to cook your food, and again you have to do that a long way from the tent in case the bear smells the food… We go as often as we can.
“It’s entirely normal, the most unglamourous thing you can do. Everybody stinks, and you’re cold and you’re wet and yet you see things you’d never see from a car or a hotel room. You walk every day and you’re away from everything.
“Some people in this business go, ‘I can’t go anywhere without the paparazzi’, but if you really want to you can find a way to go and be private.”
