Soon after giving birth to her son, Sparrow, on September 9, Nicole Richie started focusing on losing the 35 or so pounds she gained during pregnancy.
According to a friend, while Nicole didn’t put on as much during this pregnancy as she did with her first, she’s still eager to get her body back. “Nicole gave in to cravings during her pregnancy, but now she’s eating very healthy,” her pal explains. “She’s careful to get enough nutrients, but she is avoiding all sweets and processed foods.”
Nicole, 28, has arranged to have three nutritionally balanced meals a day delivered to her home, and she’s also breast-feeding Sparrow to burn extra calories.
The star has been working with a team of doctors and specialists whose focus is nutrition ever since she sought treatment in 2006 for an inability to gain weight. “Nicole understands that she has had issues with her weight and has gotten too thin before,” says the friend. “She’s doing this the right way now.”

She should try wearing wearable weights like “Body Togs” scientifically based weighted sleeves worn on your arms & legs under your clothes that increase calorie burn, muscle tone & bone density. Weighted vests work great too!

Breastfeeding will burn abut 500 calories a day. With both my kids, I was back to my pre-preg weight in 3 weeks and under it in about 8 wks. Breastfeeding also helps to prevent mom’s risk of breast, ovarian, uterine and cervical cancer. And of course, everyone knows it couldn’t be any better for baby.

Danielle, I could be wrong here, but it looks like Sheena was referring to the fact that weight loss is probably the most selfish reason to breast feed, as opposed to say, wanting the best for the baby in so far as nutrition, immunity, maternal bonding, etc.
And yes, her comment was funny. Try an English comprehension class and then re-read her comment. And pay attention to the way it punctuated (look it up in the big word book).

I myself have not had any kids yet. I think that breastfeeding is a great ideal to bond with your child, keeping the baby really healthy and losing weight in the process is just a big plus. The most important thing about breast feeding is that it is very healthy to the baby.
