We just got a declaration from Joe Jackson, filed with the court, and Joe makes it clear — he supported Michael Jackson’s decision to make his wife Katherine the guardian of Michael’s 3 kids .. and Joe makes it clear he will keep his distance.

Joe says in the declaration: “I have had a close family relationship with these grandchildren since their birth. I do visit the family residence from time to time and will continue to do so, however I will not be involved in raising the children.”

Joe continues, “I understand that all decision-making authority regarding the children will rest with Katherine Jackson. Katherine Jackson is a wonderful caretaker and guardian, and has done an excellent job raising our children and other grandchildren.”

Did Jessica Simpson see it coming?

In an interview before her split from Tony Romo, she speaks about the process of moving on from a painful breakup – and even ponders how she’d cope with losing Romo.

“If this article comes out and we’re not together, I’d still love him, and he’d still be a huge part of who I am today,” Simpson, 29 tells Glamour in its September issue.

Simpson compared the end of a relationship to “a death in the family.”

“You go through the mourning stage, then the rebellion, and then all of a sudden you have to find life by yourself,” she says. “Once you do that, you feel complete – and that’s the only time you can truly fall in love again, and give yourself over completely to another person.”

Life for Simpson now is filled with projects. Her fashion design line, the Jessica Simpson Collection, is expected to reap hug earnings (Glamour estimates around $450 million). And she’s got a new VH1 show, The Price of Beauty, where she travels the world discovering what constitutes beauty in other cultures.

“Whether wearing rings to elongate your neck in Thailand or having plastic surgery in Brazil, women all over the world go to [great] lengths to feel beautiful,” she says. “It’s not fair that women look in the mirror and feel disgust because of what society has made them believe.”

That idea especially appeals to Simpson, who was criticized over a recent weight gain. “I absolutely, 100 percent do not agree with how the media has made everyone [body] obsessed,” she said. “And they do have the power to do it. Celebrities aren’t perfect. It’s amazing to me how much thought is put into a woman’s figure on tabloid covers.”

Should Peter Facinelli be concerned? Jennie Garth was positively giggly Monday night as she confessed to having a crush. “He’s so cute, he’s like a little boy, you just want to take him and hug him,” she gushed. “And he has a cute little haircut!”

Not to worry. The 90210 actress is referring to Dr. Cooper, Facinelli’s character on Showtime’s Nurse Jackie, which was recently picked up for a second season. “He’s my favorite character Peter’s ever played,” she says.

Garth, who has three girls with Facinelli – Luca, 12, Lola, 6, and Fiona, 2 – isn’t such a fan of his schedule, however. “We just had a lady at our house trying to get our calendars to sync up. I said, ‘Put his agenda on the family calendar.’ She clicked the button and the whole calendar lit up. I was like, ‘Take that off! He’s too busy!’ ”

In turn, Garth, who recently started filming the second season of the CW’s 90210, is keeping her schedule light. “I don’t want that episodic lifestyle ever again,” she says. “I have three little girls. I chose to make that my priority.”

And she may be willing to re-prioritize some time soon – by expanding her family. “We’re good with the Facinelli five, but I’m always open to it,” she says of having more kids. “My husband’s never home, so that might be difficult. Bring it! I’m ready.”

Jon and Kate Gosselin returned to TLC Monday night, but many of their fans didn’t.

After a month-long hiatus, last night’s back-to-back episodes of Jon & Kate Plus 8 brought in less than half the audience of the show’s previous episode, which earned a record-breaking 10.6 million viewers. (In that episode, which aired on June 22, the couple announced they were separating after 10 years of marriage.)

Last night’s first half hour, which featured Kate and the kids vacationing while Jon supervised their kitchen renovation, drew 3.9 million viewers. The following show, in which Kate went camping with the kids without Jon, was watched by 4.1 million.

Both episodes were also down significantly from the May 25 premiere, which brought in 9.8 million viewers.

The same day his reality show returned to TLC, Jon Gosselin showed off his bare stomach — while wearing a shirt that says “Buddha” — outside his Pennsylvania home.

The dad of eight also smoked cigarettes, signed autographs for fans and checked his iPhone.

Where were the kids? Eating ice cream with a nanny. At one point, he chatted with one of his 8-year-old twins.

Last night’s Jon & Kate Plus 8 showed Kate spending more time with the children.

In the first of two episodes, she took the group to Bald Head Island, N.C. while Jon supervised a kitchen renovation in their $1.1-million home.

“I think Kate and I needed a break from each other,” Jon told cameras. “This landed at a good time. Kate could take the kids to the beach, and I could stay here and supervise cabinet construction.”

Jon didn’t appear at all in the second half-hour of the show, which featured Kate camping with the kids in the backyard. He’s been to St. Tropez with Hailey Glassman and then New York’s Hamptons with Kate Major over the past few weeks.

While those women weren’t featured on last night’s shows, TLC president Eileen O’Neill has said cameras may show Jon and Kate dating others “on a case-by-case basis.”

Ashlee Simpson-Wentz is in awe of sister Jessica, who was dumped by beau Tony Romo the night before her 29th birthday in July.

“I don’t think I’ve ever known anybody stronger than her,” Ashlee told Usmagazine.com Monday at the CBS, CW, CBS Television Studios & Showtime TCA party in Pasadena, Calif. “My sister is amazing. I spend so much time with her.”

Ashlee is currently gearing up for the fall premiere of her new CW show Melrose Place.

Balancing work and motherhood isn’t as tough as it seems, said the mother of 8-month-old son Bronx.

“It’s been good so far,” she said. “For me, I wanted to do something that’s a bit more stable, and it’s been that, which has been perfect. And we get to travel. We’ve been to Paris, Japan, everywhere with my son. And he’s so happy and healthy. I’m very fortunate he’s on a good schedule.”

She also said it’s been fun playing a vixen.

“She’s interesting. I think she’s creepy,” she told Us when asked to describe her character, Violet. “I think that she’s unaccepted and wants to be loved.”

Ashlee didn’t watch the original Fox series regularly, but said she’s “gone back and watched some of it [on DVD], and it’s great.”

Added Ashlee, “The fun thing about [the new show] is that hopefully people that watched it, and even watched the DVDs, will be into it because it brings the ‘oohs and aahs’ and the drama.”

Amid all the hype surrounding the custody and estate battle going on in the wake of Michael Jackson’s death, it seems his family has forgotten one very important thing – his body. The former King of Pop was temporarily laid to rest at Forest Lawn cemetery some four weeks ago, reportedly in music producer Berry Gordy’s tomb, and it seems he won’t be resting in peace anytime soon.

According to a source close to the Jackson family, Michael’s own brothers have admitted that even have no idea what is going on and when or where a permanent burial will take place.

“It is all still in limbo, its so ridiculous,” an inside source told Tarts. “It’s still a very difficult time for Katherine and she doesn’t want to deal with it. With everything that is going on, everyone has lost focus on his body. It isn’t even really a topic of discussion right now.”

We’ve also been told that a Neverland burial is not out-of-the-question and inquiries have apparently been made with regards to filing a petition in the Santa Barbara Court. However this could take many, many months to come to fruition and be approved.
