Mariah Carey has silenced gossip about the state of her health following a slew of cancellations – calling her recent schedule changes “no big deal”.
Last week, Mariah scrapped an upcoming appearance at a televised concert in New York, leaving teen star Miley Cyrus to fill in for her.
She has also postponed the release of her new album Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel for a second time, which was initially slated to hit stores on 25 August 25th, but now won’t get a release until the end of September.
The news has sparked fears for Carey’s health, with internet gossips suggesting the star may have fallen ill. But a representative for the singer is adamant the delays are noting to worry about.
Carey’s publicist Cindi Berger says, “These dates have been postponed and not cancelled. Record release dates change all the time. It’s nothing unusual and it doesn’t signal anything. There are a lot of moving parts to Mariah’s professional life. It’s no big deal.”

Amy Adams loves starring in “family films”.
The ‘Enchanted’ actress was delighted to be given the chance to sing and dance on screen in the 2007 movie, and would be more than happy to star in a musical film in the future.
She said, “I love doing family films. They give you so much permission to play. Of gosh, that’s fun. Of course, I adore drama, but on a purely selfish level, nothing compares to the joy that fills my heart when I sing and dance. Everyone I know says, ‘Oh Amy, you should just go and do a musical and be done with it.’ I absolutely love acting, but my characters aren’t usually bursting into song from joy. They’re usually feeling and crying their way.”
Amy can soon be seen in ‘Julie and Julia’, in which she plays Julie Powell, a woman who decided to make all 524 recipes in Julia Child’s ‘Mastering The Art of French Cooking’ and write a blog about the experience.
The 34-year-old star was given cooking lessons before filming, and admits she needed all the help she could get.
She explained to Britain’s Vogue magazine, “I learnt to cook. I didn’t grow up eating fresh food. Not as one of seven kids! But I could have made you something really decent with canned food. We were given cooking classes. All that stuff when you see me cooking – that’s really me. I did bone the duck.”
Has anyone seen ‘Julie & Julia’? If so, how was it?

Rachel McAdams always cries on airplanes.
The actress – who has starred in a number of tear-jerking blockbusters, including ‘The Notebook’ and ‘The Time Traveler’s Wife’ – is overcome with emotion when she watches movies on long-haul flights and will burst into tears even if they don’t have sad storylines.
She said, “I cry at movies that aren’t supposed to be sad. It’s something about the airplane – it’s something about the altitude, but I cry in every movie I’ve ever seen on an airplane!”
The 30-year-old beauty is currently single since her split from actor Josh Lucas earlier this year.
Before Josh, Rachel dated Hollywood hunk Ryan Gosling – who she met on the set of ‘The Notebook’ – until they parted ways in 2007. But the starlet can now deal with heartache and learns from each of her relationships.
She explained to OK! magazine, “It’s hard to start fresh but you have to do that with everyone. I always find that one relationship always helps out with the next.”

Our bessie mate Robert Downey Jr. is reportedly in talks to play the vampire Lestat, according to the guys over at Bloody Disgusting. The sometime-Iron Man and Sherlock Holmes may add Lestat to his character gallery if he signs a deal to star in Anne Rice’s The Vampire Chronicles.
Vampires are, of course, so hot right now after Twilight and TV’s True Blood, and Downey Jr. would be a hot choice for a vampire. But what can we expect to see? Interview with the Vampire, with Tom Cruise in the Lestat role, covered the first book in the series, and Queen of the Damned, with Stuart Townsend taking the role, the third. The middle one is mostly prequel, explaining how Lestat came to be the vampire he became, and why he’s not such a bad fellow as he might have appeared in Interview.
Whether Downey will take the role remains to be seen: he would seem a little old for it, given that Lestat’s supposed to have become a vampire as a very young man, aged about 20 if memory serves, and of course shouldn’t have aged since.
And given that Downey’s already juggling Iron Man and Sherlock Holmes, and that he already had to drop Oobermind because of scheduling conflicts, does he have time to sign on to another franchise-in-waiting? Only time will tell.

Just when you thought Gossip Girl couldn’t get anymore glamorous, the third season is set to return with a bang. “We have our big Polo match in the first episode, we go to Sotheby’s for an auction in the third episode and in the fourth episode, we have a big movie premiere at Ziegfeld [Theater],” says the show’s executive producer Stephanie Savage.
And amidst all this glitz and glam, Gossip’s graduates are getting ready to go back-to-school and things are never too easy, are they? Spoiler alerts to come …
For Blair Waldorf, college might just be down the street from her posh Upper East Side pad, but it might as be well be across the country. “Blair is the fish out of water,” says Savage of Leighton Meester’s character. “Now that she is going to school downtown, Vanessa and Dan are really among their people. So it’s bizarre-o world for her.”
However, Blair won’t be totally alone downtown. As promised, Georgina Sparks (Michelle Trachtenberg) will return as her new college roommate. “She is not going to be in our first episode, but she will be in the second episode when our kid’s start college,” says Savage. And Chuck Bass (Ed
Westwick) will be a staple by Blair’s side throughout the season. While Chuck won’t be clocking in any school time, Savage tells PEOPLE, “This year, [Chuck] is really going to be focused on getting out from underneath his
father’s shadow and starting his own entrepreneurial direction.”
Adding to Blair’s “shadows” downtown is off-again BFF Serena van der Woodsen (Blake Lively), who will also be stirring up trouble south of Central Park. As well as locking lips with Carter Baizen (Sebastian Stan) in the first episode, Serena’ll be hooking up with designers Tory Burch and Georgina Chapman of Marchesa. Savage tells us the fashion cameos have to do with Serena’s “decision [in terms of college] and what happens to her in the first couple of episodes.”
But, a reconciliation with Dan Humphrey (Penn Badgley) won’t be in her future [DASH] at least not this year — Dan is busy romancing Hilary Duff’s character Olivia Burke in the Village.
Then there’s Jenny Humphrey (Taylor Momsen), learning the ropes of Queen Bee. “We really do see Jenny struggling with what she is going to do with this power that has been given to her,” says
Savage. “She is back at Constance and now she is a junior — the same age as our other girls when the show started — so we have lots of story areas for Jenny that are opening up.” And one in particular that will make a
comeback: Jenny’s fashion career! “As we get more into the season, that is going to be a bigger and bigger story,” says Savage.
