As far as Brad Pitt is concerned, his new film Inglourious Basterds is the be all and end all of Nazi movies.

“The second World War could still deliver more stories and films, but I believe that Quentin [Tarantino, director] put a cover on that pot. With Basterds, everything than can be said to this genre has been said,” Pitt tells the German magazine Stern. “The film destroys every symbol. The work is done, end of story.”

As for another WWII Hitler assassination movie with a famous Hollywood star, he says there is no comparison. When the Stern reporter mentioned Tom Cruise’s recent turn in a film about a real plot to kill Hitler, Pitt simply said, “It was a ridiculous movie.”

Pitt also revealed what movie he does find note-worthy – even life-changing – Saturday Night Fever.

“When I was a teenager, I saw Saturday Night Fever at our drive-in, but it wasn’t the dancing that electrified me. It was the life and culture in Brooklyn. I’m from Missouri, the southern part of the Midwest in the U.S., and I never heard families talk that way to each other. From that point on, I wanted out to see more of the country and of life.”

LeAnn Rimes was questioned by police following an apparently minor traffic accident Thursday night in Los Angeles.

“There was a routine police investigation into this incident, and a police report was filed,” says Rimes’s spokesperson. “We are confident that this matter will be resolved shortly and LeAnn will be cleared.”

The accident occurred at about 7:30 p.m. in the city’s West Los Angeles neighborhood. There were no injuries and no charges were filed.

“We can confirm she was involved in some type of traffic accident,” says a rep for the LAPD. “She was questioned and released. It’s an ongoing investigation.”

She’s the new kid on the Gossip Girl block, but Hilary Duff says the star-studded cast is making her feel right at home.

“Everyone’s been really, really gracious to me and sweet to me,” Duff told reporters Thursday night at a NYC celebration for Charlotte Ronson’s I “Heart” Ronson collection for JCPenney.

Duff reportedly will play Olivia Burke, a movie star who enrolls at New York University and rooms with Jessica Szohr’s character, Vanessa.

“I’m a huge fan of the show. They called me and said come on and do a few episodes. I jumped at the chance,” she said on the red carpet outside the Lighthouse at Chelsea Piers.

Due to a packed summer schedule, Duff — who recently returned from Columbia, where she distributed food to poor children through the charity Blessings in a Backpack — says she hasn’t hung out personally with the GG cast much yet, but has enjoyed spending time with them on-set.

“Blake [Lively] and Penn [Badgley] are really amazing. She’s been so so sweet to me,” she said, when asked about the real-life couple. “And I’ve known him for a few years. We’ve kind of lived in the same neighborhood in L.A., just growing up.”

Another first-timer joining her on the Gossip Girl set this season: Tyra Banks, who will play actress Ursula whose roles include cultural icon Josephine Baker.

“It was fun to work with her in a different atmosphere than appearing on her show,” Duff told reporters. “She looked beautiful and did a really great job. She had the flat hair that squiggles on her forehead. Very flapper-ish!”

It’s really going to bug me that she’s wearing a wig in Eclipse. I know it’s probably totally anal of me, but I hate it when people wear wigs in films. It nearly ruins the movie for me. Couldn’t she have just worn a wig in The Runaways and kept her hair!?

Jude Law doesn’t even remember the mother-to-be of his fourth child.

A friend of Samantha Burke – who is pregnant with the star’s baby following a brief romance last year – claims the American model hasn’t seen or been in personal contact with the ‘Sherlock Holmes’ actor since he left New York.

The unnamed pal told E! Online: “She met him at a club in New York. He was sick, so she kept going to his hotel over the course of a week to take care of him.

“But Jude didn’t even remember her. She hasn’t seen him since New York. They’ve only been in contact through their lawyers.”

The friend also said she believes Samantha, 24, is “crazy” to go through with the pregnancy.

Samantha recently denied she is a ‘gold digger’ who is only after Jude’s money.

The brunette beauty wrote on her blog: “I can’t tell you how far from a gold digger I am. I’ve never dated a rich man in my life. I’ve always wondered how girl friends of mine could even ask their boyfriends to buy them clothes.

“When I found out I was pregnant, I was scared. I didn’t jump for joy because I ‘hit the jackpot’ – I cried.”

Samantha has reportedly made a request for $10,000 a month in maintenance for the child, which she plans to call Sophia, and is due in October. (Cause is TOTALLY costs $10K a month to raise a child!)

Jude, 36, has previously said he will be a “fully supportive part of the child’s life”.

He already has three children with his ex-wife Sadie Frost, Rafferty, 12, Iris, eight, and six-year-old Rudy.
