Johnny Depp thrilled sick children at a London hospital on Wednesday – by dropping in unannounced, dressed as a pirate.

The actor has been in the U.K. capital this week to promote new movie Public Enemies, and took time out from his busy schedule to visit Great Ormond Street Hospital to cheer up young patients.

Dressed as his Pirates Of The Caribbean character Captain Jack Sparrow, he visited several wards – including the one his daughter Lily-Rose stayed in when she was treated for kidney failure in 2007.

A source said, “Johnny was so friendly with all the children on the ward and they absolutely loved his pirate outfit. He spoke to lots of the youngsters and staff – and made their day by posing for pictures with them all.”

The generous star has previously donated $1.5 million to the hospital to thank them for looking after his 10-year-old daughter during her health scare.

Ryan Reynolds wore cellophane underwear in his latest movie.

The 32-year-old actor – who plays PA Andrew Paxton in ‘The Proposal’, about an assistant whose boss forces him to marry her to ensure she isn’t deported – had no problem donning the transparent garment as he thinks he looked good in it.

Discussing whether a scene in which he and co-star Sandra Bullock appear naked was “sexy”, he joked: “I don’t know what was unsexy about it. I mean I was furnished with cellophane underwear that day. That’s a beautiful sight. A nice see through, cellophane Speedo.”

Sandra insists she only agreed to strip off for the movie as the scene – which sees the pair accidentally bump into each other while both are nude – was funny rather than romantic.

She explained to Bang Showbiz: “I’ve done those scenes that are supposed to be sexy and they’re just not. The full naked body, especially the men, and I hate to say it, a full frontal is not that funny or sexy. But you hide a little something between us men and women and it becomes sexy, it’s sexier.

“So the lack of sexiness in this scene made me happy to do it. I mean yeah, it’s humiliating, it’s embarrassing, people are going to poke fun at your body, but I do that already.”

The 44-year-old actress added she was happy to laugh at her bare body as she isn’t precious about her appearance.

She revealed: “I don’t look at my body and go, ‘This is such a machine, a beautiful specimen, I cannot show it in that funny light.’ It’s funny every day. I look at it everyday and there’s something funny going on with my body so I saw that it could be used as a vessel, in a good way.”

Hayden Panettiere isn’t bothered about her misspelled tattoo. She asked for the tattoo to say “Live without regrets” or “Vivere Senza Rimpianti” and instead she was tatted with “Vivere Senza Rimipianti” which has one “I” too many.

About the tattoo trouble, she says, “It is misspelled, whatever, I just put my own spin to it. Chances are I’ll probably get it fixed, but that’s why I love having it on my back because I don’t get bored of it. I don’t have to stare at it all the time, but then you have it on your back and you don’t realize that it’s misspelled either!”

This is why I refuse to get those Chinese symbols like “Faith”, “Hope”, or “Luck” tattood onto myself. With my luck I’d be in China and a local would ask me why my leg says “Chicken”.

Despite reports that Debbie Rowe plans to fight for custody of her two children with Michael Jackson, her lawyer insists she has not made up her mind on the matter.

“Debbie Rowe has not reached a final decision concerning the custody proceedings,” attorney Eric M. George told reporters during a press conference Thursday. “As many of you know, my belief is that the pending custody proceedings are the most private and the most sensitive of matters as they impact the lives and the fates of young children. To that end, I’ve endeavored out of respect for Michael’s children and family, especially in this time of grieving, to keep silence on these matters, to deny all interview requests and to share only that information involving upcoming public court proceedings.”

Earlier Thursday, NBCLA’s Chuck Henry reported that he has spoken to Rowe – mother of Prince, 12, and Paris, 11 – and she told him, “I want my children.”

Although Rowe herself has not spoken publicly about the custody proceedings, George said, “I have no reason to doubt that what was reported from that conversation was accurately and ethically reported, but that said, it would be a distortion of the truth to allow that single snapshot of a single conversation, to stand as the truth on Debbie’s position on this sensitive matter.”

“Once again, the truth is that Debbie has not reached a final decision concerning the pending custody proceedings,” he concluded. “When Debbie does take a position in the public forum of a court, those positions will, of course, be conveyed to all interested persons. In the meantime, I very much appreciate everybody’s continued respect for Debbie’s privacy at this time, and I’m very sorry, but I cannot address any questions at this time.”

In Jackson’s will (released Wednesday) the singer –- who died at age 50 after suffering cardiac arrest June 25 — named his mother Katherine as guardian of his three children – Prince, Paris and 7-year-old Blanket. (If Katherine died before him or couldn’t serve as guardian, Jackson nominated Diana Ross, according to Jackson’s will.) He “intentionally” omitted Rowe from his will, he said.

Last week, Katherine filed a petition in Los Angeles Probate Court seeking legal guardianship of the children. (In her 22-page petition, she claims the children “have no relationship with their biological mother.”) A guardianship hearing scheduled for Monday has been postponed until July 13 at the request of attorneys for Rowe and Katherine Jackson.

Rowe wed Jackson in 1996 (he was a patient in the dermatologist’s office, where she worked as a nurse). The children were born through artificial insemination. (The new issue of Us Weekly exclusively reports that the children’s father is Arnold Klein, Jackson’s L.A.-based dermatologist and Rowe’s former boss.)

After Jackson and Rowe divorced in 1999, she agreed to give up her parental rights, insisting Jackson was a good father.

Since their father’s passing, the kids have been with the Jackson family and “are happy,” Jackson patriarch Joe said at a press conference Monday. They’re with “other young ones in the Jackson family…. They were never around other kids.”

A source tells Us the Jacksons have not yet reached out to Rowe.

Oh my goodness, what a gorgeous ring!

When Kevin Jonas asked his girlfriend Danielle Deleasa to marry him early Wednesday morning, she was too stunned to notice the one-of-a-kind diamond ring he designed for her.

“I didn’t see the ring for a while because I couldn’t believe what he just asked me,” Deleasa told People. “I was looking at him, like “Are you serious? When he pulled out that ring, I was like ‘Oh gosh.’ I said something like ‘Oh my God,’ and then I started crying.” But once she wiped away her tears of joy — and said yes over and over again — what she saw before her was a three-carat cushion-cut diamond set in platinum above double shank band with 210 round pave diamonds (pictured here), according to Angela Arabo, Jacob & Co vice president, who worked with Kevin to design the ring.

The star “had done his homework,” Arabo said. “He knew exactly what he wanted.” The two collaborated over the phone and email. “When he got the ring, he called me and said it was the most beautiful ring and it was exactly how he imagined. He was really excited. He couldn’t wait to propose to her.”

Kevin Jonas, 21, proposed to Deleasa, 22, surprising her at her doorstep early on Wednesday morning — flying overnight after a Jonas Brothers concert in Vancouver. Arabo talked to the happy couple Wednesday night and wished them the best. “He was very happy and thrilled. Danielle is very happy and she has the ring on right now.”

No wedding date has been set yet. Right now, Kevin told People, “We’re just ready to celebrate with friends and family and of course all our fans.”
