Lancome launches new line! Make Her Up

Katie Holmes has teamed up with Hairspray director Adam Shankman and reality TV guru Nigel Lythgoe to launch a dance scholarship fund.

The Hollywood actress, who is set to appear on Lythgoe’s show So You Think You Can Dance later this month (23Jul09), has joined forces with the pair and Dancing With the Stars judge Carrie Ann Inaba to set up the Dizzy Feet Foundation.

The scholarship organisation gives underprivileged youngsters the opportunity to take part in dance programs and win grants to enrol in accredited dance studios, reports Daily Variety.

Holmes says, “I think it’s important for children to experience music and dance. Every child should have the opportunity to discover what it is they like and have access to the very best in that pursuit.”

The Batman Begins star will show off her moves on the dancefloor during a special 100th episode of So You Think You Can Dance on 23 July (09), in which she will perform a tribute to Judy Garland.

Jon and Kate Gosselin spent time together with their children for a July 4th celebration at their Pennsylvania compound — and broke the law in the process.

An eyewitness tells Life & Style that Jon lit sparklers, rockets, cherry bombs and firecrackers from his front lawn in broad daylight. “Things got so loud,” says the witness, “that one ka-boom in particular sent all the kids scurrying back to the house.” That prompted Kate to screech out, “Jon, I think that’s illegal in Pennsylvania!”

Asked to comment, officer Thomas Deiterich of the Lower Heidelberg, Pa., police department tells Life & Style, “Fireworks are illegal for personal home use in the state of Pennsylvania.” Deiterich went on to say that the law isn’t usually enforced.

Although Jon and Kate kept their distance at times during the get-together, they and the children appeared to be a unified family at least for the day, according to the onlooker. “They were having fun.”
