As ex Jon Gosselin celebrates his single status in France with 22-year-old girlfriend Hailey Glassman, Kate Gosselin is sticking to her everyday routine in Wernersville, Pa.

On Tuesday, she left their eight kids at their $1.1 million home to run errands.

Wearing a floppy hat and sunglasses, Kate stopped by a UPS Store (she was spotted toting the children’s magazine Highlights) and later picked up gas. Tellingly, she also was wearing her wedding ring (Kate has said she was “not fond of” the idea of separating).

Kate has been looking after their eight kids ever since Jon took his trip to France with Hailey Glassman last week. Over the weekend – while Jon and Hailey smoked cigarettes and chilled on Ed Hardy designer Christian Audigier’s yacht – Kate went grocery shopping and had a picnic with the kids.

Jon is expected to return from France today. Filming of their hit TLC show Jon & Kate Plus 8 resumes Aug. 3. It remains to be seen whether Hailey will be a part of the show.

A source tells Us Hailey didn’t go out with Jon Monday night in France because she was “upset” over the negative press.

Is Jon Gosselin’s new girlfriend out to be a star herself?

Multiple sources confirm to the new issue of Us Weekly — on newsstands tomorrow — that 22-year-old Hailey Glassman is dating the newly-separated dad of eight, 32, “to get famous.”

Glassman — whose father performed Kate’s 2006 tummy tuck — has tried out for MTV’s Real World and Oxygen’s Bad Girls Club.

“I think after realizing she had a connection to Jon through her father and that Jon and Kate’s marriage was rocky, she saw an opportunity to get famous,” one of Glassman’s pals tells Us.

James Appleton, who describes himself as her “hookup friend,” tells Us Glassman dropped him abruptly just before news of the pair broke.

“A couple days later a mutual friend was like, ‘Oh hey, your girl Hailey is pretty famous. She’s dating this older guy who has like eight kids,’” says Appleton, who met her during a 2007 spring break trip to Acapulco, Mexico.

Before leaving for St. Tropez, Glassman (who was arrested in 2005 for marijuana possession) changed her Facebook status to “In a relationship.”

They made their relationship public by holding hands Saturday before boarding Ed Hardy designer Christian Audigier’s yacht in France.

Despite reports, they aren’t collaborating on a children’s clothing line.

“Christian is absolutely not starting a kids’ clothing line with Jon,” a rep for Audigier told Us Monday. “As of right now, there is no clothing line in the works between them at all.”

A friend of Michael Jackson’s babymama Debbie Rowe has come forward with revealing e-mails that make it clear that Rowe has no interest in actually getting custody of the two children she had with the King of Pop.

In an interview to air tonight on Extra Debbie Rowe’s friend and confidant, Rebecca White, reveals details from e-mails from Rowe sent days after Michael’s tragic death.

From the start, Rowe made it clear that she did not want custody of the kids. In an email dated July 2, 2009, she writes:

“I’m not going after custody. These kids are not mine. They were never mine. They were always Michael’s. I was Michael’s best friend.”

But then, three days later on July 5, Rowe writes to White:

“My lawyer is telling me I have to take some responsibility about the welfare of the children. Do I want the kids? Hell no. Does it look good for me to ask for them? Absolutely. I don’t want to look like the woman who gave away her kids and just forgot about them. Would Michael want Joe to have them? I think it would be the last thing that he would ever have wanted.”

And one bit of information White shares would all-but confirm the report from this morning that Debbie had reached a settlement with the Jacksons.

White tells Extra: “In one text message [Debbie] had just said, ‘Just wait until the 14th. Everything will be done after the 14th’…There’s definitely going to be a secret deal. There’s definitely going to be a settlement that’s going to come out of this.”
