The video, obtained by US Magazine, shows exactly what went down when a pyrotechnic mishap ended in Michael’s scalp being scorched.
After the accident, Jackson became addicted to painkillers.
As a bathing-suit-clad Khloe Kardashian stood by the pool at NYC’s Hotel Gansevoort on July 9 at her exclusive photo shoot with Life & Style, she appeared to be a woman without any body insecurity. But things were very different for her growing up. “I used to get teased all the time as a kid,” the reality-TV star tells Life & Style. “People [even in more recent years] would come up to me and be like, ‘Oh, you’re the fat, funny one.’ I would wonder, is that who I am?”
Khloe’s still funny, but no one can call her fat anymore. By working out about 45 minutes a day, five days a week, and maintaining a balanced, practical diet, she shed 20 pounds from her 5-foot-9 frame over four weeks. “I’m now a size 6, but I’ve been up to a size 10 in the past,” says the 25-year-old, who stars with her closeknit clan on E!’s Keeping Up With the Kardashians and co-owns the upscale boutique Dash with her sisters.
Khloe says she started emotionally eating when her parents, Robert and Kris Kardashian, were going through a divorce. “You just don’t understand stress like that when you’re younger,” she says. And her roller-coaster eating habits meant she also took dieting to a dangerously extreme level. “I was anorexic when I was 15 — I’d be obsessed with working out, and I’d never eat,” says Khloe. “That was the worst I’ve ever been. I’ve been very underweight and then overweight by about 30 pounds.”
After packing on the pounds again after her dad’s death in 2003, she expressed interest in working out, and Kim gave her that extra push. “We just started doing it together,” says Khloe, who adds that she and Kim, 28, both have a sweet tooth and keep each other’s snacking habits in check. “Just having someone’s encouragement makes it so much easier.” Kim’s happy to help. “I’m so proud of Khloe,” she tells Life & Style. “She looks amazing.”
Carnie Wilson has famously struggled with her weight. Once almost 300 pounds, the 5-foot-3 star had gastric bypass surgery in 1999 and then a tummy tuck in 2002 to remove excess skin after the weight-loss procedure. But the June 12 arrival of Luciana Bella, her second daughter with her husband, musician Rob Bonfiglio, was more than worth the 60 pounds Carnie packed on while expecting. “People gain weight when they have a baby, and someone like me, I gain more weight than I want to,” she told Life & Style during an interview in her Tarzana, Calif., home on July 1. “I’m not hiding that. I’m not ashamed of that.” Instead, she’s reveling in family time with Rob, their 4-year-old daughter, Lola Sofia, and the couple’s new 6-pound, 5-ounce bundle of joy, affectionately nicknamed Luci. “She’s just a few weeks old but a very good baby,” reveals Carnie, 41.
Although Carnie’s eager to get back to her hosting gig by early September, she’s enjoying this bonding period with Luci. “Rob can help change diapers and help with some bottle- feedings, but he’s kind of leaving it up to me,” says the singer. “For the first month, it really is ‘mommy time,’ and Rob lies low. After that, the baby’s not as fragile.” While Carnie herself was fragile after Lola’s birth, suffering from post-partum depression, she’s experiencing less anxiety with her second newborn because she knows what to expect now. “If the baby cries, she’s either hungry or has gas or a wet diaper, and that’s it,” she says. “It changes every month, and I just know that so far it’s been a lot easier on my mind.”
The only hurdle left for Carnie is fitting back into her size 8 jeans. Breast- feeding every three to four hours and drinking more than 2 liters of water a day have helped her drop 25 pounds already, but Carnie says she has 35 more to go. “Now I think I’m reaching a point where it’s slowed down and the hard work is going to come in,” she says. “My goal is to be somewhere between 150 and 160 pounds.”
I woke up this morning to find out that Dave Chapelle was in my hometown last night! And the crazy thing is, I ran into him on Saturday! I was downtown Sat night for the Tori Amos concert (amazing!) when Dave Chapelle whizzed past me on his skateboard, followed by his sons and his wife. I said “That was Dave Chapelle!”. But I never thought I was actually right, because why would Dave Chapelle be riding his skateboard down Broadway? So I didn’t tell anyone, thinking I was wrong. But I was right! I should trust my celebrity instincts! I found pictures of him and his family – and they are EXACTLY who I saw on Broadway!
I looked up why Dave was in town, and turns out I missed a free performance!!

That was the message on the tweets of Portland Tuesday as word spread of a free, impromptu performance from comedian Dave Chappelle, a comic icon akin to Richard Pryor for those who grew up with Comedy Central.
By twilight Tuesday a crowd of young faces had begun to coalesce at Pioneer Courthouse Square. A few hours later, thousands were on the Square, all self-organized via social networking, text messaging, Facebook updates and Twitter.

Justin Timberlake unleashed his wrath on July 14, 2009 when a paparazzi got a little too close to the mega-star outside a Hollywood, California hotel.
Expletives flew and the photog placed his camera equipment on the ground to prepare for an exchange of blows. Despite being softened by the luxuries of celebrity, Timberlake was not afraid to confront the man and they squared off for a heated jawing session before hotel staff intervened.
Timberlake is notorious for his scorn for the paparazzi and fearless when it comes to confrontation, though backup from a complete staff of hotel workers, his driver and his bodyguards probably aided in cooling him down.
