As news broke that Ivanka Trump had gotten engaged to longtime boyfriend Jared Kushner, publisher of the New York Observer, her real estate mogul father Donald Trump sends his good wishes to the twosome. “I am very happy about it. They make a magnificent couple!” he tells OK!.
Ivanka wrote about the joyous event on her Twitter page this morning, writing: “I got engaged last night…truly the happiest day of my life!!!”

Ashton Kutcher is recovering from a ruptured eardrum after he was hospitalized in the Bahamas earlier this month during shooting for his new movie Five Killers.
The actor was filming scenes for the action comedy in Nassau with co-star Katherine Heigl when he complained of a severe headache.
He took a break from shooting but worried crew members admitted him to a nearby medical center when they noticed he had a bloody ear, reports the National Enquirer.
Doctors diagnosed the problem and treated Kutcher as his wife Demi Moore dashed to his bedside. She was relieved to find he was back to his comedic self by the time she arrived, joking around with medical staff and film assistants.
A source tells the tabloid, “When Ashton saw Demi, he said cheerfully, ‘Hi, honey! I’m fine. Come join the party!’”
Medics gave the former That ’70s Show star the all-clear and he was allowed to fly to Georgia to finish working on Five Killers. And Kutcher refused to let his injury hold up production on the movie. The insider adds, “Ashton was a trooper. He didn’t even miss a day of filming.”

Alec Baldwin and Tina Fey’s hit comedy 30 Rock is leading the charge for the 2009 Primetime Emmy Awards after landing a whopping 22 nominations.
The show will defend its title as Outstanding TV Comedy for the third year running, against Entourage, Weeds, Flight of the Conchords, The Office, How I Met Your Mother, and Family Guy. The animated series’ inclusion is the first time a cartoon has been shortlisted for the prize since The Flintstones in 1961.
30 Rock’s leading stars will do battle in the male and female categories for the outstanding comedy actor awards. Hollywood star Baldwin is up against the likes of Steve Carell (The Office), Charlie Sheen (Two And A Half Men) and Jim Parsons (The Big Bang Theory), while Fey is competing with Christina Applegate (Samantha Who?), Sarah Silverman (The Sarah Silverman Program), and Mary-Louise Parker (Weeds).
Meanwhile, Mad Men has scored 16 nods – including Outstanding Drama Series, which it won last year (08), Outstanding Lead Actor, Drama for Jon Hamm, and Outstanding Lead Actress, Drama for Elisabeth Moss.

Mischa Barton was suffering from some sort of medical issue that landed her in the hospital yesterday. Now, we’ve just found out that she’s been placed under an involuntary psychiatric, 5150, hold by the LAPD.
Last night she was transferred to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, according to sources. The police were summoned to Mischa’s home yesterday for a mysterious medical issue.
According to the 5150 code, Mischa can be held for up to 72 hours if she is deemed a threat to herself or anyone else.

The 2-year marriage of Amy Winehouse and Blake Fielder-Civil came to a formal end in a functional first floor courtroom in London Thursday.
As one of 25 couples seeking to dissolve their marriages, Fielder-Civil, 27, was granted the divorce from Winehouse, 25, in a hearing that lasted all of 75 seconds, as the singer admitted adultery, court papers show.
Neither she nor Fielder-Civil were at Court Three of the High Court Family Division in London’s Holborn area to hear District Judge Michael Segal grant the “quickie” divorce.
In a question-and-answer format, the court papers show that it was Fielder-Civil who filed for the split. Asked if he finds it “intolerable” to live with Winehouse, he replies, “Yes.” And when asked to “state briefly your reasons for saying that the respondent has committed the adultery alleged,” he answers, “The Respondent confessed the adultery to me in April 2008.”
The papers show they have not lived in the same household since that date.
In her response, Winehouse is asked if she admitted “the adultery alleged in the petition.” She answers a simple “yes.” She adds that she is not intending to defend the case.
The couple married in Miami May 2007. First talk of a divorce surfaced in January, when Fielder-Civil, a music-video producer, signaled he would start proceedings. The singer initially said she would not let it happen.
Unless a dispute arises, the divorce will become final in six weeks.

Isn’t it nice how all of these “pals” come out of the woodwork to talk about you to the press? I’m not condoning what Hailey’s doing or anything, but it just seems that everyone is cashing in for that almighty dollar. Friends don’t mean anything to these people anymore, at least, once you’re famous.
Jon Gosselin’s new wild girlfriend, Hailey Glassman, “is bisexual,” one of her college pals confirms to the new issue of Us Weekly, on stands now.
“She’s open about it, and I’ve seen it happen,” the friend goes on.
Glassman — who was arrested in 2005 for marijuana possession — is more serious about women than men, a college classmate says.
“Guys have just been hookups,” the classmate tells Us. “With girls, there have been actual relationships.”
Glassman, 22, — the daughter of the plastic surgeon who performed Kate’s free tummy tuck — went public with Jon, 32, by holding hands with him before boarding Ed Hardy designer Christian Audigier’s yacht in St. Tropez last week.
The wannabe reality star (she tried out for MTV’s Real World and Oxygen’s Bad Girls Club) is cozying up to the father of eight “to get famous,” multiple friends confirm to Us.
Jon doesn’t seem to mind.
“He’s excited to live this new lifestyle,” pal Brian Sep says.
(After splitting with Kate, he told cameras on his reality show: “I have a new chapter in my life — I’m only 32!”)
Jon reunited with Kate at their $1.1 million Pennsylvania home earlier this afternoon.
On Tuesday, shortly after arriving in the United States, he told photographers that his girlfriend was staying in France and that he had to come home to “work.” (He said he still has 34 more episodes of TLC’s Jon and Kate Plus 8 to shoot.)

Slumdog Millionaire star Rubina Ali has wasted no time taking Hollywood’s elite to task.
In her new book, Slumgirl Dreaming: Journey to the Stars, the nine-year-old calls the Australian actress “strange.”
In the 192-page memoir, which was written by a journalist who followed the young star for six months, Ali discussed her recent acting job in which she and Kidman costarred in a Ridley Scott-produced French commercial for Schweppes beverages.
(Ali played a small child captivated with Kidman’s Indian princess character.)
“I really liked her, but she was very quiet and didn’t speak much,” Ali said in the book, adding that Kidman stayed in her trailer during the entire shoot reportedly to avoid sun exposure. “I think she was a bit shy.”
