Jessica Simpson’s heart might be aching from her recent split from Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo on the eve of her 29th birthday — but she’s still a hopeless romantic who’s about to unveil a new fall fragrance inspired by what else? Amore.

In a June press release about the ultra romantic fragrance, Fancy Love, Simpson had said, “Romance has never been more important to me so I wanted to celebrate that special feeling with this new fragrance.” And that ardent attitude about love still fits with the singer’s approach to life.

Says Vince Camuto, CEO and founder of the Camuto Group, which holds the license for all of her brands, “Jessica loves the feeling of being in love, She’s a romantic girl. The fragrance was inspired by love. And she’s inspired by love.” As for claims that passion for Romo was what sparked her interest in creating the new warm, floral scent, “I don’t know if it was inspired by him,” says Camuto.

“She felt that this was the timeless fragrance of falling in love. She came up with that.” The newly single Simpson had a hand in every aspect of Fancy Love, from choosing what kind of scents to use to coming up with its name, “which adds a touch of Jessica’s whimsy,” Camuto says. “She’s very smart. She has a high taste level. She’s very particular and wants to make sure everything is right. That’s why the brand is working.” And how! Her first fragrance, Fancy, had one of the best perfume launches in 2008 with nearly $50 million in retail sales in its first year, says Camuto.

Since her July 9 breakup with Romo, Simpson has been mending her heart by quietly spending time with her family and friends, hitting the gym and gearing up for her new docu-series, The Price of Beauty. “She really loved him,” says a source close to Simpson. “She realizes [relationships are] not easy. She’s one of those people who try to make it work. And she’s got a lot of people chasing after her…”

Demi Lovato may have recently split with Trace Cyrus, but she finds time to chat to her best friend – his sister, Miley – every day.

And what does the 16-year-old call Miley in those chats? “Dragon.” She tells the September issue of Sugar magazine (her first cover shoot in the U.K.) the nickname comes from “our fave film, Step Brothers.” She adds the megastar has “given me so much advice” to help her cope with fame.

“Recently she sent me this four-page text message encouraging me and telling me she has faith in me. It was so inspiring and made me feel great – because I do get a bit overwhelmed by the paps sometimes.”

As for her other celebrity pals, the Jonas Brothers, Lovato says, “Everyone asks me if I fancy them but I totally don’t!”

She can afford a joke now about the attention she gets, but it wasn’t so easy a few years ago. She says the bullying she endured at school stemmed from her new-found fame. “I opened a show for JoJo once and the next day my class passed round a petition to ‘Get Demi Out,’ and then handed it to me. It was pretty devastating.”

“But the final straw was when I was chased into the toilets by girls threatening to punch me. I was so scared I called Mom – we decided I’d stay at home after that. But it made me more focused on writing my music and spurred me on to want success.”

She has been home-schooled since then, but she adds that she would like to go to college one day.

Lovato’s first steps on the road to fame were at a school talent show when she sang Celine Dion’s My Heart Will Go On from Titanic. “[It was] a pretty daring choice, I’m sure you’ll agree! Mom still describes that performance as ‘sweet’ – so I’m pretty sure she means I was awful!”

She still gets plenty of support from her family. “I get really emotional every time I have to leave them to go on tour, but luckily Mom and Dad take it in turns to go with me. I miss my sisters so much.”

After nearly two years of contentious court dates and bitter feuding, Hulk Hogan (real name Terry Bollea) and his wife Linda settled their divorce Tuesday morning.

“The war is over,” Linda Bollea told The Tampa Tribune after a hearing in downtown Clearwater, Fla. In a sign of peace, she even kissed her ex on the cheek in the courtroom. “I still love him. He’s the father of my children,” Bollea added.

Hogan, echoing his wife’s surprisingly soft sentiment, told the paper, “When you’re married to someone for 23 years … you hope for the best …. We just got torn apart.”

In a statement released Tuesday, the wrestler’s rep said, “Hulk is looking forward to moving on with his life and is very hopeful that he and Linda can maintain a friendship and work together as parents to their two children.”

Bollea also issued a statement Tuesday afternoon, saying, “My husband took the big step of stopping this escalating war by making the decision to put this behind us. I am grateful to him for realizing that our family can be happier and stronger by working together. He and I both love our family dearly and look forward to working together to make it stronger than it has ever been. My family means the world to me.”

Bollea filed for divorce from her husband in November of 2007, just three months after the couple’s teenage son, Nick, was involved in a car crash that critically injured his best friend.

While terms of the divorce agreement were not made public, a source tells PEOPLE that Bollea now plans to move to Los Angeles, while Hogan will likely move back into the family home in Clearwater.

Just two days before she announced her split from longtime boyfriend New Orleans Saints running back Reggie Bush, Kim Kardashian told People about her house hunting – and her desire to live alone.

Kardashian, surrounded by her mom, Kris Jenner, and her sisters, Kourtney and Khloe, at the Hilton Hotel in Atlantic City, N.J., talked about how she and Bush had just looked at homes together the day before. “He hated the one that I loved,” she said. “There is one that he loved and I know my mom is going to love. So I don’t know. I just feel like I have lived in a condo and it’s just time.”

Perhaps most telling, she followed with a declaration: “I’ve always wanted to buy a big house myself and … It is time for me to move. I wish my sisters could move in with me.”

Asked if she planned to move in with Bush, she told People, “I don’t think I would ever live with someone unless I’m engaged. I’m really firm on that. I have done it before. I would tell all my friends, the best thing is to keep your independence. It feels really good to be able to buy a place by myself.”

Later in the evening, Kardashian shared with the crowd how she met Bush. “Basically [stepdad Bruce Jenner] forced me to go to the ESPY’s. [And] I hate sports. As we were walking to our seats after my mom conned me to to going, Matt [Leinart] called my name to say ‘Hi’ and he was sitting with Reggie. For about a year Reggie tried to get my number.”

Her mom then interrupted, “So you owe that to me! I was the reason that you met Reggie Bush.”

Kardashian responded: “I owe you my life.”

Every week, teenagers around the country tune in to Gossip Girl to see Taylor Momsen play Jenny Humphrey – a high school rebel with requisite teen angst. But just to be clear: Momsen says she’s hardly a typical 16-year-old in real life.

“I live a very adult life,” the high school graduate (she got her diploma two years early!) tells Teen Vogue in the September issue, hitting stands August 4. “What am I going to do, hang out with high school kids? I just can’t relate to what they talk about – it seems so petty.”

And that includes high school boys. Momsen, who claims to have been in “lots of relationships,” admits that she could never date someone her own age. “Boys are so much less mature than girls as it is,” she explains. “I would eat a boy my age alive.”

Instead, Momsen is eschewing the idea of a traditional college education, opting instead to take a few classes online, sing in her band, Pretty Reckless, and act, of course.

“I’m an artist; I’m not going to use trigonometry,” she says matter-of-factly. “For most people college is a place where you learn about yourself, and I feel like I’m doing that already. I’m already independent.”

But what about college friends? “I have such trust complexes,” Momsen confesses. “I’m close to like, two people.”

Still, all her insecurities seem to fade away when she steps in front of a crowd to sing her music. Having spent most of her life in front of a camera (Momsen began modeling at age 2), she’s used to the spotlight, and doesn’t mind if her Gossip Girl fans don’t understand her rock star persona or her new look.

“I’m pretty, but I’m not, like, a ‘pretty girl,’ ” she says, adding that she modeled her new ‘do on a Joan Jett photo. “I know people were a little, um, taken aback. But it wasn’t me that changed – it was just that I decided to start being myself.”

Mischa Barton is on schedule to return to the set of her CW show The Beautiful Life, People confirms.

The 23-year-old actress “will be resuming production as planned with the rest of the cast in NYC,” her rep tells People. “She’s back to business as usual.” The show is due to start filming Friday.

Barton was hospitalized July 15, but has been making improvements, her rep told People.

Ashton Kutcher, creator and producer of The Beautiful Life, recently talked about Barton at a technology conference in Pasadena, Calif. “I can tell you right now Mischa Barton is doing great,” Kutcher said, according to Reuters.
