Marilyn Manson Threatens Journalists Who Criticize Him

The shock-rocker recently took to his MySpace blog to bash journalists who take issue with him, his band or his music.
“If one more ‘journalist’ makes a cavalier statement about me and my band, I will personally or with my fans’ help, greet them at their home and discover just how much they believe in their freedom of speech,” Manson warns. “I dare you all to write one more thing that you won’t say to my face. Because I will make you say it. In that manner. That is a threat.”
Manson’s edict is in response to an interview Buddyhead.com founder Travis Keller did with LA Weekly where he suggested that Manson is a paranoid cocaine addict who is nothing like his onstage goth persona.
Back in 1998, Manson, whom we couldn’t reach, was accused of inviting Spin executive editor Craig Marks backstage to a concert and then assaulting him, but Marks later dropped the charges.

\"he suggested that Manson is a paranoid cocaine addict\" – well, as they say, if the shoe fits…

It’s sad people dismiss him or his music because of the way he looks. I love his music and I couldn’t care less what he looks like, but then again, I’m not a gullible sheep who heard someone say he was scary looking and decided ‘oooo! he’s scary, he is bad!’.

hmm…this coming from a man who has fought censorship for his entire career? deciding to exact violence on those out there who also have a right to not be censored as well? I am sure there are a lot of mothers and fathers out there who would love to go to his house and ask him, in a forceful and threatening manner, just how much does he value his freedom of speech??

Manson is like what, 40 years old? It’s time to grow up, take the clown makeup off and stop doing interviews that sound like the angst-ridden diary writings of a brace faced 15 year old emo boy. It’s not 1998 anymore, girlfriend. Team Trent!

Censorship and slander are two different things.
Manson is obviously fed up with the smarties who sell his soul for a piece of shitty article that by magic ignites some further snortiness.
I guess everyone noticed what media ‘facts’ did to Jackson.
He should have been more like Manson – aggressive and not take shit.

but is it slander if someone is just stating their opinion, such as a review? good review or not they still have a right for it to be published. just as his band, good or not, still has a right to make a cd.
and obviously, we can all see the MJ situation, was and still remains OUT OF CONTROL. that is not the same for this situation here.

funny how it is that the case of censorship vs slander comes up on GOSSIP blogs that you read probably everyday. Tell me what the difference there is? Fine line to cross

I think he’s threatening to verbally confront the person. He knows he’s well spoken and intelligent and he is willing to put the journalist to task for their words. Nothing wrong with that.
