Paris Jackson’s tearful tribute to her father
As the star-studded tribute to the King of Pop concluded, Michael Jackson’s own children, Prince Michael, 12, Paris Katherine, 11, and Prince Michael II (Blanket), 7, took the stage during a group performance of “Heal the World.”
After the song, Paris gave an impromptu speech from the stage surrounded by the Jackson family.
“I just want to say ever since I was born, Daddy has been the best father you can ever imagine,” she said through tears. “And I just want to say I love him so much.”
Her aunt Janet Jackson then took her into her arms for a hug before the entire Jackson family then left the stage, closing the service that lasted more than two hours.
The moving tribute was especially startling because it marked one of the first times Jackson’s daughter has ever been heard publicly.
Paris and her siblings are also the subject of an ongoing custody dispute. Currently, her grandmother Katherine Jackson has been granted temporary custody of the three children, but Debbie Rowe has parental rights over the eldest children which she may choose to exercise.
Blanket’s mother has not been identified.

That was the saddest part of the memorial in my opinion, those 3 innocent children just lost thier father.

This had to be the saddest part of the entire memorial. Just makes you relize he was not a superstar to this little girl but her daddy. So sad three children do not have a mother or a father…

I don’t know who wrote this piece, but I think it is about time we stop refering to the youngest child as “Blanket”. He has a name. Try using it.

Maureen, I think he\’s called Blanket becuase he and his brother have the same name. I agree it is silly, but that\’s probably his nickname so he can be set apart from his brother.
Poor kids. I don\’t think Debbie Rowe should have them. They don\’t even know who she is. Clearly Joe Jackson is a jackass, so I hope Katherine doesn\’t get them.
Sad situation for those kids, that\’s for sure.

I do pray that these children get a chance to live a normal life finally. However, to place them within eye shot of MJ’s father is a mistake. Katherine is too old to stop contact with him. Even though he lives in another state they are still married. As far as Rowe, I am not counting/or passing judgement about her. I don’t think anyone knows the real story about her relationship with MJ/children. But, she said MJ could raise them. Unfortunatly, he has passed. So I think she has the right to exercise her right to get them back.
I hope the courts make the right decision. And the youngest one shouldn’t be seperated. I think it would divistate him.

To Maureen, Michael Jackson himself refers to his youngest child as “Blanket”…that was his name. His official name was Prince Michael Jacson II (the 1st being his older brother), but his name IS Blanket.
