Katie Holmes refuses to talk about Scientology
Katie Holmes is about to start filming her new movie, Don’t Be Afraid Of The Dark, but some questions from the crew will not be allowed.
The Batman Begins actor will begin filming on the closed Docklands set this week, as she, husband Tom Cruise and daughter Suri continue to explore Melbourne’s sights and stores.
One film source from the set said that each crew member had signed agreements saying they would not ask the superstar about her religion, Scientology.
The couple, who have braved chilly weather to explore the city and have happily chatted to locals, are notoriously private when it comes to questions or discussions about their religion.
Holmes has never publicly addressed converting to Scientology since she started dating Cruise in early 2005.

i get that, but can’t her answer just be, “my religion is a private issue for me.” that way, if the entire crew even wanted to ask her that question, word would get around that she won’t answer it. that’s weird they had to sign a formal contract. religion is private for most people, so saying so isn’t a bad thing. are they really worried what people will think? sounds like it.

At my company, as is the case in every other company, we have a harassment policy that we have to read and sign. The policy covers issues of gender, sexuality, politics and religion. Sounds to me like someone is taking a normal everyday occurance and blowing it completely out of proportion.

It makes sense considering that Katie had to sign a non-disclosure contract when she became Tom’s beard. Tom Cruise love contracts.

Whoa – isn’t ‘superstar’ overstating Katie Holmes’ relevance?
It would be kind to say she is a B list actress. But I guess some (his pr people) refer to Cruise as “the biggest star in the world” which is waaay overstating him as well.

Holy Moses, 1. Katie Holmes is a C-List actress AT BEST; girl ain’t no “superstar” by ANY definition or standard; 2. Since WHEN has Tom been “notoriously quiet” about his “religion?!?!” NEVER!! 3. It’s hardly called “braving the cold” to go out and shop indoors; 4. How lame can an “actor” be to have CREW sign agreements not to ask questions!? Just tell them not to ask, and if they do, politely decline discussing personal beliefs (as if Katie speaks to the crew anyhow!!). Word will get around, and that’ll be the end of that. 5. This “article” was clearly put out by Katie’s people … It’s beyond moronic and an embarrassing attempt to stay relevent …

Kate is Catholic. Tom used to be Catholic. Tom needs to stop marring Catholic’s and try to turn them into freaks like him {Mimi>Catholic; Nicole>Catholic; Kate>Catholic}. Why doesn’t he just marry another freak like himself within his ADOPTED religion? No good or worthy memners in his religion???

That is utter crap, no work agrement says you can\’t talk to someone about their religion, only you are to be respectful of it. Actually baning someone from even asking politly is harrassment.
So does this mean from now on that no scientologist (yes you Tom) will be putting up tents at there films sets and handing out free stress tests coupons.

Mimi Rogers was scientologist from birth. Her parents were deep into the religion, her dad was a high level auditor for them or some such thing. She became one too, at a really young age. You can do that, move up super quick, when you’re born into it. not so many thetans clinging to you, i guess.
