Kevin Federline filming reality show pilot

Kevin Federline

Kevin Federline has been living a relatively low-key life since splitting from Britney Spears — but the onetime rapper and backup dancer may be stepping back into the spotlight with a new reality show, a source tells People.

Federline, 31, was spotted at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas Thursday where he’s in town to film scenes for the show’s pilot, a source says.

The possible program, which has not been officially picked up, will focus on showcasing Federline’s life as a father of four. He has two sons with Spears — Jayden, 2 1/2, and Preston, 4 — as well as two children with ex-girlfriend Shar Jackson.

“He has been through a lot over the years, but handled himself very well. He’s learned how to balance being a super single dad and the chaotic life of business, fame and fortune,” says a source. “He strives to be a good father.”

After shooting scenes for the pilot at the Hard Rock beach pool, Federline and his girlfriend Victoria Prince, partied with a group of about 15 friends — and a camera crew — at the club Wasted Space where they sipped on Grey Goose cocktails until about 3:00 a.m.

Federline’s rep had no comment.

Kayne West Denies Saying He’s the “New King of Pop”

Kanye West

Kanye West did not try to take Michael Jackson’s crown as the King of Pop, he wrote on his blog Friday.

Various sites reported earlier that the hip-hop singer declared himself “the new King of Pop” on Scrape TV, weeks after Jackson died at the age of 50.

He was quoted as saying: “It’s so sad to see Michael gone but it makes a path for a new King of Pop and I’m willing to take that on. There’s nobody who can match me in sales and in respect so it only makes sense for me to take over Michael’s crown and become the new King.”

However, West claims he never said anything about the late icon.

“I was just listening to [radio host] and heard some quote about me saying I’m the new King of Pop,” he wrote. “Not only did I not say that, I haven’t said anything. It makes me feel bad that obviously I made people feel that I would be corny enough to say something so whack after the passing of an idol, a legend and more than that, a human being with feelings and family.”

He continued: “It scares me to think what people will believe, without even a source. Any random person can type something on the internet and then the world believes it. I don’t talk to press or do TV or do promotions of any sort. I’ve stopped chasing and buying into fame. Fame is like cigarettes with no surgeon general warning. It destroys most people as it did to the true and only king of pop. We exploit ourselves and eat our own egos ’till there is nothing left. I have a feeling that this won’t be the last false statement with my name on it, but this will be the last time I defend myself. I’m done.”

Robin Williams: How Heart Surgery Changed My Life

Robin Williams

Why is Robin Williams planning to return to the stand-up circuit just seven months after having heart surgery?

“I realized I was running out of merchandising money from Bicentennial Man,” he joked at the Television Critics’ Association panel in Pasadena, Calif. Thursday.

Williams, 58, says his 20-date tour, Weapons of Mass Destruction, which kicks off in September and which will air on HBO, uses material drawing from “a relapse, three years of heavy drinking, going to rehab in wine country to keep my options open, coming out of that, divorce, and open heart surgery.”

The characteristically light-hearted comic admitted that he worried about touring. “After having open heart surgery, it’s going to be interesting,” he says. “I haven’t done the long program [yet]. I started a little bit; I went on stage two months ago and I was on a couple minutes and then I said, ‘I’m not ready yet, thank you.’ ”

Despite the career setbacks, Williams says surviving surgery has had positive effects in his personal life. “You literally are opened up, and you really do appreciate the simplest things like breath, and friends,” he says. “I’ve been calling up all of my friends and saying, ‘Thanks for being there.’ You say, take it a little slower. That’s been amazing.”

Seth Rogen: Megan Fox Turned Me Down

Seth Rogen & Megan Fox

Seth Rogen says Megan Fox once gave him the kiss off.

On Thursday’s Jimmy Kimmel Live!, he recalled how they both appeared on the ABC late night show two years ago, and he was immediately struck when the Transformers stunner walked into his dressing room.

“She literally came in to my dressing room in sweatpants and a T-shirt, and everyone in the room stopped talking and stared,” he said. “Everyone thought I had won a prize or something.”

Rogen said that Fox was nervous because it was her first time on a talk show, so she asked him to sit with her on Kimmel’s couch while she was being interviewed.

The actor said he was happy to oblige and figured he could even sneak in a quick smooch because “often the male guest takes it upon himself to plant a small kiss on the cheek of the female guest as they come out.”

“I thought to myself, ‘When in my life will I ever get to kiss this woman? Now’s my chance!’” Rogen explained. “So I tried to do it, and to my memory, she physically stopped me from doing it and basically rejected me on television.”

He is still hurting.

Rogen quipped, “These last two years have been rough.”

Police Chiefs Plead Not Guilty in Sarah Jessica Parker Surrogate Case

Sarah Jessica Parker & Matthew Broderick

Two police chiefs pleaded not guilty after being arrested for allegedly devising a plan to break into the home of Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick’s surrogate.

Martins Ferry Police Chief Barry Carpenter and Bridgeport Police Chief Chad Dojack were charged with several felonies on Friday, the Associated Press reports. Carpenter, 32, was charged with two counts of burglary, one count of receiving stolen property, one count of theft in office, one count of unauthorized use of property or services and one count of tampering with evidence.

Dojack, 30, was charged with two counts of complicity to burglary and one count of complicity to receiving stolen property. Although Dojack could face up to 14.5 years in prison if convicted on all charges, Carpenter could face up to 21.5 years in jail.

The two cops were booked into the Belmont County, Ohio jail at approximately 9 p.m. on Wednesday, the Associated Press reports. The two men — who posted bond shortly after their arrests and were released — allegedly planned to dig up information on the woman, named Michelle Ross, who carried the couple’s babies to sell to tabloid photographers.

“It is extremely troubling that the persons sworn to uphold the law and protect the public are now charged with violating those oaths,” special prosecutor T. Shawn Hervey said, adding that it was troubling that society “is so celebrity crazed that a market exists and tens of thousands of dollars are exchanged for pictures and stories of celebrity scandal.”

The alleged burglary took place in mid-May in the eastern Ohio town of Martins Ferry, and the allegations against Carpenter and DoJack surfaced about a week later. Ross is no longer staying in the town, officials told the Associated Press.

“Matthew and Sarah Jessica have complete faith in the legal system,” Broderick’s publicist said in June when the investigation began. “But because it’s a criminal investigation, we will not be making any more comment. What I can say is the entire family looks forward to the healthy delivery of their daughters later on this summer.”

Parker and Broderick welcomed twin girls — named Marion Loretta Elwell Broderick and Tabitha Hodge Broderick — via the surrogate on June 22.

Emma Watson Is Related To a Real Witch!

Emma Watson

You think Emma Watson won the coveted role of Harry Potter’s pal Hermione Granger just because of her talent and beauty?

Actually, it turns out magic was always in her blood – the British actress can trace her roots back to a real-life woman accused of witchcraft in the 16th century.

According to genealogist Anastasia Tyler of Ancestry.com, the 19-year-old actress is a distant relative of Joan Playle of Essex County, England, who was convicted of witchcraft in 1592 and excommunicated from the Church of England.

So that’s why the public finds Watson so enchanting …

“It’s not every day we’re able to trace the branches of a family tree back to 16th-century witch trials,” Tyler says. “Combine that with a celebrity connection to Emma Watson and the fact that she plays a witch in Harry Potter: You couldn’t script it any better.”

Most of Watson’s cast mates don’t have as storied a lineage – Daniel Radcliffe is descended from bakers, grocers and plumbers, and Rupert Grint includes a gunsmith among his forebears. Helena Bonham Carter, who plays villainous Bellatrix Lestrange, however, is of noble birth, and her great-grandfather, Herbert Henry Asquith, Earl of Oxford and Asquith, served as prime minister of the U.K. from 1908 to 1916.
