“Kung Fu” and “Kill Bill” star David Carradine was found hung in a closet in a hotel room in Bangkok on Wednesday, Thai police said.
Police believed he committed suicide.
Carradine, 72, was in Bangkok to shoot a movie and stayed at a Suite Room 352 of the Park Nai Lert Hotel on Wireless Road since June 2.
The film crew were aware of his absence when they went to dine out at a restaurant on Sathorn Road on June 3.
Carradine did not show up at the dinner and the team could not reach him. They assumed that he took a rest because of his age.
It was a hotel’s maid who opened his suite on Thursday at 10 am only to find Carradine in a closet. He was described as being half naked.
Police investigation showed that he hung himself with a rope, the kind that is used with curtains.
Police said he was dead for not less than 12 hours and found no sign of fighting and assault.
Kung Fu Man
Aside from Quentin Tarantino’s two part “Kill Bill” in 2003/04, Carradine was perhaps best known for his role as the fugitive half Chinese Shaolin monk Kwai Chang Caine in the 1970s eastern/western TV drama “Kung Fu”. He also starred in Martin Scorsese’s “Boxcar Bertha” in 1972, portrayed folksinger Woody Guthrie in “Bound for Glory” in 1976, acted in Ingmar Bergman’s “The Serpent’s Egg” in 1977 and costarred with half brothers Keith Carradine and Robert Carradine in the 1980 western “The Long Riders”.
His father was the noted actor John Carradine.
In Thai cinemas, Carradine was recently seen as a martial arts guru in the Rob Schneider comedy “Big Stan” and as a perverted elderly Chinese mobster in “Crank: High Voltage” starring Jason Statham.

Kristen Stewart seemed more uncomfortable than ever at Sunday’s MTV Movie Awards, dropping her Best Female Performance award and admitting to fans that she is “awkward.”
But her Twilight and New Moon costar, Peter Facinelli, tells Usmagazine.com, “That’s just Kristen. I think she has that shaky knee syndrome and that’s part of her charm.”
“To sweep the awards like that? If that doesn’t build someone’s confidence, I don’t know what can,” he told Us Tuesday at the NYC premiere of Showtime’s Nurse Jackie.
As for Stewart’s sudden rise to fame, “I think being mind-blown about it isn’t the same as being uncomfortable with it. I think she’s got a real charm and grace about her, and I think she really is settling into it. We had a great time filming New Moon and we’re all really excited for the next one – Kristen included.”
He said the vampire sequel (out Nov. 20) is now being edited.
“Hopefully they’ll pick the good parts and make a good movie, Facinelli told Us. “I’m excited to actually see it.”

After a three-year absence from the big screen, Lopez tells ET about returning to work, “The few days before I got really nervous I was like, what if I forgot how to act?!” On balancing work with motherhood, she says, “I bring the babies to work with me. I love it. Honestly, one of the best days of my life was the first day back working on this film. I wanted to do this film really badly and bringing my babies with me that first morning, I was like, ‘Oh my God, they’re with me, I’m making a movie, they’re here!’ It’s great having kids on set. It’s the best.”
In The Back-Up Plan from CBS Films, Jennifer plays Zoe, a pet store owner who just can’t find Mr. Right. Desperate to be a mother and tired of waiting, she decides to go it alone and get artificial insemination, only to meet Stan, (“Moonlight” star Alex O’Loughlin) a man with real possibilities, the same day.
Jennifer is in amazing shape for the film and she explains that it wasn’t easy getting back in pre-baby form. “It did take a lot of work,” she admits. “I thought it was gonna drop off easily because I had been in shape my whole life, but it wasn’t. I gained about 50 pounds with my twins, and the first 30 dropped off like that, and I was like, ‘Ha, this is gonna be so easy.’ That last twenty pounds, that took a while.”

Yesterday, Eddie Cibrian’s model wife, Brandi Glanville, lashed out at alleged other woman LeAnn Rimes, claiming the country star is obsessed with her hubby and hasn’t stopped pursuing the actor since rumors of an alleged fling first broke.
“LeAnn is a stalker,” Glanville told Us Weekly. “She refuses to leave us alone—it is shameful and scary.
“People are going to say it takes two to tango, and I get that, but at some point, LeAnn needs to stop asking him to dance.”
Cibrian and Rimes shared some steamy scenes in the Lifetime TV movie Northern Lights, but have repeatedly denied any off-screen hanky-panky.
Rimes wasted no time responding to—though not flat-out denying—Glanville’s dissing.
“These comments are incredibly defamatory, and while there are always two sides to every story, LeAnn continues to remain above the fray and chooses not to play this out in the press,” her publicist, Rhett Usry, told E! News. (more…)
