Angelina Jolie celebrated her 34th birthday on June 4. But while she should have been relaxing with beau Brad Pitt and their six kids, she was instead being forced to watch her back. Just days earlier, Hollywood producer Dan Lin announced that he was planning a new installment of Angie’s Tomb Raider series, which turned the actress into a star and has grossed a whopping $431 million worldwide. But he doesn’t seem to be considering Angie for the lead this time around — because, he confessed, she’s simply too old.
“It’s a great origin story that we’re going to tell,” said Lin, who recently produced Terminator Salvation. “So it’s a younger Lara Croft.” Anyone in particular in mind for the lead role? Transformers star Megan Fox, he noted, was a “no-brainer.”
No wonder: Megan, a dark-haired beauty with full lips and an edgy reputation, has often been compared to Angelina. But Angie isn’t flattered by the comparison — or the suggestion that Megan, 23, may be ready to replace her. “Angie is not thrilled about turning 34, to put it mildly,” says a friend. “In fact, she’s panicking a little. She feels that her age is starting to undercut her choice of film roles — and it annoys her that Megan Fox is being touted as the ‘new Angelina.’”

Iron Man 2, the scarlet and golden-metaled hero must face an adversary with technological upgrades of his own.
Whiplash (Mickey Rourke) sports a power pack on his chest that looks similar to the one used by Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.). “The technologies are definitely related, and that’s part of the core theme of the film,” says director Jon Favreau.
The character’s alter ego, Ivan Vanko, is a Russian who, Favreau says, “has constructed his own version of a suit.” Among the creative alterations: a pair of whips, powered by the suit’s glowing chest piece, expected to keep Iron Man cracking. Whiplash “is going to light them up,” says Rourke.
This first image of the character shows the villain making an appearance at the Monaco Historic Grand Prix.
Favreau as usual is tight-lipped about plot points in the film, due May 7, 2010, declining to discuss whether Whiplash was, as in the Marvel Comics, a weapons designer who works for Justin Hammer (Sam Rockwell), a competitor of Tony Stark/Iron Man. “We like to play into and against the expectations that people might have so, we mixed it up a bit,” Favreau says.
Rourke’s performances in Sin City and The Wrestler “made quite an impression on me,” says Favreau. “Robert has a tremendous screen presence. So it was very important that the villain be as compelling as can be. … Once I thought of Mickey in that role, it made me understand how to shape the story.”

Donald Trump just told TMZ he gave the green light to fire Carrie Prejean’s award-winning butt because she just wouldn’t do the job and treated people badly.
Trump told TMZ Carrie refused to appear at around 30 events on behalf of Miss California USA. He says Prejean was contractually bound to appear and she just wouldn’t do it. He doesn’t think her attitude has anything to do with her politics.
Trump said: “To me she was the sweetest thing. Everyone else — she treated like s**t.”
MORE FROM TMZ:
We’ve learned “biblically correct” Carrie Prejean will lose her Miss California USA crown today because she doesn’t play well with others.
Sources connected with the pageant tell us even Donald Trump has now had it with Carrie, because she’s violating her contract by not getting clearance to do her extracurricular stuff.
We’re also told Carrie has been a no-show for appearances she was supposed to make for the pageant organization.
The firing, we’re told, is strictly based on Carrie breaching her contract. It’s not based on her political and moral views.
Carrie is getting her walking papers this afternoon.
The new Miss California USA will be Miss Malibu Tami Farrell.
