Dermatologist Is Biological Dad of Michael Jackson’s Children

jackson-752-b.jpg

Though Michael Jackson was wed to Prince and Paris’ mother, Debbie Rowe, their biological father is Arnold Klein, Jackson’s L.A.-based dermatologist and Rowe’s former boss, multiple sources confirm to the new issue of Us Weekly.

“He is the dad,” says a Jackson insider. “He and Debbie signed an agreement saying they would never reveal the truth.”

Though neither Rowe nor Jackson ever confessed to their kids’ true lineage, she did admit in 2002 that she carried his children as a personal favor (and would not confirm that the marriage was ever consummated).

“I said, ‘Let me do this. You need to be a dad. You have been so good to me,’” Rowe — who met Jackson when she was a nurse’s assistant in the 1980s — has said.

Klein would not give a comment to Us.

For more details on Michael Jackson’s shocking home life with his three children, how the kids are coping with his surprise death and never-before-seen private family photos, pick up the newest issue of Us Weekly, on stands tomorrow.

Patrick Dempsey is launching a new fragrance

Patrick Dempsey

Just last summer Patrick Dempsey launched his first signature fragrance, Unscripted. And now he’s back, and poised to launch his second masculine scent with Avon this November.

Patrick Dempsey 2, WWD reports, will contain notes including mandarin, nutmeg, spiced wood accord and patchouli at a budget-friendly price of $35 for a 2.5-oz. bottle.

But what about the name? Patrick explains, “It’s about the intimacy of two people and the strength you get in a relationship. I thought, why don’t we just go with ‘2′ and make this about being a couple.”

He continues that theme with his advertising campaign, which features the star posed with his wife of ten years, Jillian.

Check it out!

Attorney defends Michael Jackson’s doctor

Michael Jackson

After days of speculation about his role in the final hours and death of Michael Jackson, the superstar’s personal physician, Dr. Conrad Murray, has spoken out through his lawyer.

Ed Chernoff, the doctor’s Houston-based attorney, tells People his client valiantly tried to save the singer’s life – and never injected him with Demerol or prescribed OxyContin.

“If it turns out that Michael had OxyContin in his stomach, it had nothing to do with Dr. Murray,” says Chernoff.

Frantic Efforts
On June 24, he says, his client was asked by Jackson to spend the night at the singer’s house following Jackson’s rehearsal for his new tour at the Staples Center. The next day, when Jackson did not emerge from his bedroom before noon, Murray entered the room and found the singer unconscious – but with a faint pulse.

“Dr. Murray began performing CPR for several minutes as he tried to revive him, unsuccessfully,” Chernoff tells PEOPLE.

Chernoff says Murray – who met Jackson in 2006 when he treated one of his children in Las Vegas and did not become the singer’s personal physician until May – tried to call 911, but because of security arrangements at the house, was unable to get a line out. Murray thought of using his cellphone, but realized he didn’t know the address of Jackson’s house, according to Chernoff. Instead, he screamed for help.

“With Michael still on the bed, he put one hand under Michael’s back for support and compressing with his other hand. He continued to check the pulse, and the pulse remained,” says Chernoff.

A Shot to the Heart
When nobody replied to his urgent cries for help, Murray located a chef in the kitchen. A member of Jackson’s security detail finally called for help.

After the ambulance arrived, says Chernoff, Murray spoke to doctors at UCLA, who instructed the paramedics to administer an epinephrine shot directly to Jackson’s heart in an attempt to revive him.

“Michael continued to have a pulse,” says Chernoff, even as he was taken out of the house and put in the ambulance for the trip to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 2:26 that afternoon.

Chernoff said that Murray consoled the family as they arrived in the hospital that afternoon, and advised them to have an autopsy done before they signed a death certificate. Later that day, Murray, who at that point was “emotionally and physically exhausterd,” according to Chernoff, spoke to the police for more than three hours.

Then, on the advice of his lawyer, the doctor turned off his cellphone and avoided the press.

According to Chernoff, Murray gave up two cardiac practices, one in Las Vegas and the other in Houston, to attend to Jackson and accompany him to London for his series of summer concerts there.

Redmond Oneal to attend Farrah Fawcett’s funeral

Redmond Oneal

Farrah Fawcett’s son Redmond O’Neal, currently serving a jail sentence for violating his probation on drug charges, will attend his mother’s memorial service on Tuesday, his attorney tells People.

“That’s an absolute yes,” says William Slattery about plans for the 24-year-old son of Fawcett and Ryan O’Neal to go to the funeral.

O’Neal will be allowed to leave the Pitchess Detention Center in Castaic, Calif., where he is enrolled in an inmate treatment program, for the invitation-only ceremony, which will be held at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Angels at 4 p.m. PST in downtown Los Angeles.

Fawcett, 62, died after a long battle with cancer on Thursday.

Joe Jackson: No funeral until new autopsy

Joe & Michael Jackson

Despite reports that Michael Jackson would be laid to rest at his beloved Neverland Ranch, the King of Pop’s dad says otherwise.

“That’s not true,” Joe Jackson told reporters of the Neverland funeral story at a press conferance outside the family’s L.A. compound. He also added that the funeral won’t take place until they get the results from a second autopsy, now underway.

The L.A. coroner’s office conducted an autopsy on Friday, but have deferred the cause of death decision while waiting on toxicology results. Those results are due in a few weeks.

Joe says Michael’s three children are happy and are with other kids. Joe’s wife Katherine was granted temporary custody of them earlier today.

Eddie Van Halen got married

Eddie Van Halen

Eddie Van Halen married his longtime girlfriend on the grounds of his seven-acre manse Saturday night. Wearing flip-flops, the iconic guitarist wed Janie Liszewski, in his estate’s garden after she came down the aisle to a performance of Van Halen’s ‘When It’s Love’ by the Sonus Quartet.

According to People, Eddies 18-year-old son, Wolfgang, served as best man for his second marriage. The 54-year-old guitarist’s drummer/brother Alex Van Halen, an ordained minister, officiated at the 20-minute, non-denominational service. Van Halen’s ex-wife, Valerie Bertinelli — who he divorced in 2006, after 25 years of marriage — was among the 100 or so guests who sipped non-alcoholic beverages from the lemonade bar in honor of Eddie’s year-and-a-half of sobriety.

For their first dance, Van Halen chose ‘You Are So Beautiful’ by Joe Cocker, followed by his wife’s selection, Cyndi Lauper’s ‘Time After Time.’ The couple intends on honeymooning in New York, Germany and Eddie’s birthplace, the Netherlands.

Jon & Kate Gosselin: No longer speaking to the media

Jon & Kate Gosselin

One week after filing divorce papers, Jon and Kate Gosselin are speaking out again.

“During this very difficult time we will be working to focus solely on the needs of our family. This includes no longer commenting publicly or reacting to media stories and speculation,” the Gosselins said — in a public statement released on the Web site of TLC, which airs Jon & Kate Plus 8.

“Our goal is to do the very best for our children and that will be done as privately as possible,” the statement continued. “We appreciate the understanding, support and well wishes from so many.”

On Tuesday, TLC announced it was putting the Gosselins’ reality hit on hiatus until Aug. 3. Kate, however, has said she won’t quit the series, declaring, “The show must go on!”

Last week, Kate sported a bright blue bikini — but hid her famous reverse mullet under a hat — in the driveway of her $1.1-million Pennsylvania home. She and Jon take turns living in the estate while sharing custody of the kids.
