Heather Graham quit drinking after ruined birthday party

Heather Graham

Heather Graham has quit drinking when she awakened to the worst hangover of her life, after a boyfriend bailed on her birthday party.

She said that she turned to booze when her ex left the party early – and she woke up the next day depressed.

She says, “I had a birthday party a few years ago, it was a big party with a whole load of people invited. I got really nervous and invited a whole load of people. I was just drinking and having a good time. I was dating this guy and he was a bit of a jerk. He came to the party, but then he left early and I felt really bad. I just woke up the next day and the hangover wasn’t good. I was feeling depressed and I said to myself, ‘I’m never, ever drinking again’. And I’ve barely had a drink since.”

She says that it hasn’t affected her social life at all. She adds, “I don’t really like drinking that much. I’m really more of a hippie type. I prefer to do yoga than drink.”

Megan Fox defends her drug comments

Megan Fox

Megan Fox has defended her comments about making marijuana legal.

The Transformers actress, who stars in Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen with Shia LaBeouf, caused controversy after her remarks about smoking cannabis in an interview with GQ magazine.

“I wouldn’t call it recreational drug use… that makes me sound like I’m going into clubs and using cocaine,” she corrected at a press conference in London, adding: “I talked about the legalization of marijuana, which I think in the United States it should be.”

She added: “If alcohol is legal, I just think marijuana should be, that’s all.”

Megan also admitted that she’s torn between being completely open or staying schtum in interviews.

“I feel like I have the best intentions when I do these interviews and when I speak the way that I do, but it’s unfortunate when journalists choose to knowingly twist the meaning of my words,” she said.

“And that discourages me from being outspoken and honest, but it’s something I want to do. I hate reading or watching bulls**t interviews, and watching these things that have been created and presented to you on television, that are fake or manufactured. I am trying not to be one of those.”

Alexa Ray Joel talks about his separation

Alexa Ray Joel

Following the revelation Wednesday afternoon that Billy Joel and his wife Katie Lee Joel had decided to end their marriage, the music legend’s ex-wife, supermodel Christie Brinkley and his daughter Alexa Ray Joel, are talking about the sad news.

“He was the first person that told me,” Alexa told OK! on Wednesday night at the sixth annual Wayuu Taya Foundation Gala sponsored by Double Cross Vodka. “Being who he is, he can’t just trust everybody and you know, I like knowing that my dad can talk to me in the same way that I come to him… I’m just supporting him right now.

Alexa also admits she wasn’t surprised when her father told her the news. “I have a pretty good women’s intuition so I could tell,” she explained. “I know my dad very well. So I’m behind him, you know.”

So with her parents’ marriage — as well as both her mother and father’s subsequent marriages — having ended in divorce, is Alexa turned off by the idea of saying “I do”?

“I’m a real woman. I would love to get married,” she told OK!. “I don’t necessarily think you need to get the government involved in order to celebrate your love. You can have a wedding, and have it be big and fabulous and not necessarily complicate it with the papers and all that. In what I’ve seen — sure I have a different perspective on marriage and all of that. But I’m a true romantic and I will be having a wedding,[laughs] At one point, not now!”

Meanwhile, Alexa’s mom Christie tells Extra, “I’m very sad that this has happened and I wish them both happiness… he’s a wonderful father to Alexa. We’ve remained friends. We’ve been friends for many, many years, so obviously I’m very sad that this has happened and I wish them both happiness.”

How Josh Duhamel knew Fergie was the one

Josh Duhamel

Head over heels for his wife, Black Eyed Peas singer Fergie, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen star Josh Duhamel is feeling happy and reassured since their Jan. 10 nuptials.

“It’s almost like, ‘Okay. It’s just you and me. You and me against the world,’ ” Duhamel, 36, tells the July Redbook. “I know she’s got my back, and I’ve got hers. And it’s good.”

Duhamel further reveals that he knew his new bride was the one for him, based on a little advice from his old man. “My dad once told me to find someone who sees things optimistically,” he says. “It was just the consistency of how my wife dealt with things. I knew how she’d deal with adversity.”

Duhamel also says that even though his wife’s the musician, he always manages to get in a few notes for her. “Now, whether or not she likes it is another question,” he says.

Jennifer Love Hewitt is writing a relationship book

Jennifer Love Hewitt

Jennifer Love Hewitt is writing a book on relationship advice. The book is titled, “The Day I Shot Cupid” and it’s set to hit stores March 2010.

According to a press release, she “reveals a surprisingly wicked sense of humor as she explores the new landscape of modern dating and offers up a wide range of practical tips, from text-flirting and IMing to what men and women really want, and how to start over after a breakup.”

Says Ellen Archer, president and publisher of Hyperion and VOICE, the company releasing the novel: “We were instantly sold on Hewitt’s sassy and irreverent take on modern love and felt that her own confidence would be inspirational to women of all ages.”

She called off her engagement to Scottish actor Ross McCall in January. She’s also been linked to John Mayer, Joey Lawrence and Carson Daly.

The actress has said she hopes to get engaged to her costar beau, Jamie Kennedy.

“By this time next year, if we’re not planning something, then there’s a situation,” she said earlier this month.

Nick Lachey has never heard Susan Boyle sing

Nick Lachey

Susan Boyle won over millions of our hearts after we heard her sing on “Britain’s Got Talent”.

Apparently hiding under a rock, Nick Lachey said he and girlfriend Vanessa Minnillo have never even heard of her.

He said, “I have never heard her sing” with Vanessa chiming in, “We have never heard of her.”

Chances are, she’s never heard of either of you, either, so that’s fair.

The couple might have a chance to get to know Boyle. The 48-year-old — who was favored to win Britain’s Got Talent but came in second place after a shocking upset at the May finale — has been invited to perform on the upcoming U.S. edition of the show, America’s Got Talent, which premieres on June 23. She is also in talks with Simon Cowell to begin recording her first album.

When told that Boyle’s voice is amazing, Lachey said to Us, “Then we would probably buy her album!”

Lauren Conrad: Spencer never apologized for sex tape rumors

Lauren Conrad & Spencer Pratt

I kind of figured Spencer Pratt never apologized to Lauren Conrad over the sex tape rumors, but she has just confirmed it. Are you surprised?

In an interview on The View on Monday, Spencer said that he agreed to apologize to Lauren as a wedding gift to Heidi.

When Lauren appeared on The View today, she said that she wasn’t on the other end of that call and that it was filmed for The Hills.

Elisabeth Hasselbeck asked, “Did you feel like it was a sincere apology when it came from him?”

Lauren replied, “To be perfectly honest, I wasn’t on the other end of that call. That was filmed, and I wasn’t on the other end. So I didn’t even know about it until it was on TV. So, no, I didn’t get an apology. He lied.”

So, if she never got the call, why did she agree to go to their wedding?

“It’s hard to understand now, but a long time ago — years ago — we moved here together, and we were best friends, and we used to say, ‘Some day at our wedding….,’” Conrad said. “I just felt like it was a few hours of my time, and as much as I didn’t agree with it, I might some day regret not doing it.”

Conrad said she isn’t shedding any tears about leaving the show.

“It was definitely what I wanted to do,” she said. “It was a big change. So it was a big decision. I knew … it was time to leave.”
