Kate Gosselin Refuses to Give Daughter Water
Fans of TLC’s Jon and Kate Plus 8 know Kate Gosselin can be a strict mother.
But a newly surfaced video shows just how stern she can really be.
In shocking footage (posted on YouTube Thursday — the day before she and Jon celebrate their 10th wedding anniversary), Kate sits with her eight kids as they prepare to do a television interview with Access Hollywood in January.
The kids complain they’re thirsty.
“I want a drink!” Mady yells. “I haven’t had a drink all day.”
Kate ignores her.
“Mom, I’m going to get dehydrated!” Mady goes on.
Kate dismisses her: “Yes, me too.”
Kate then orders a bottle of water. But instead of offering her daughter a sip, the mom of 8 takes a quick chug.
“I need a drink now!” Mady pleads.
Kate tells her to “be quiet,” prompting Mady to cry, “You’re really, really mean!”

OMG…LEAVE HER ALONE!! She is an amazing person to be able to take care of 8 kids and still have her sanity. I am a mother and I do the same thing I tune them out when they whine for nothing. She said she would get them drinks after.You can clearly tell she is very distracted by all that going on around her. NOBODY IS AS PERFECT AS THEM MEDIA THINKS THEY SHOULD BE…GET OVER IT PEOPLE!! WHAT A SAD EXCUSE FOR A SCANDAL!!

In all fairness, sometimes kids do exaggerate things a bit. I get called mean at least 5 times a day, and not because I deprive my children of water. Sometimes it’s because I refuse to let them swim during a lightning storm, or eat ice cream for dinner instead of their broccoli…etc.
She could have not wanted the following bathroom breaks during their televised interview, so said no water, however, if the child really didn’t have anything to drink – then she drank in front of her – she should feel ashamed of herself and I do feel for the child.
I am not a huge Kate fan, never watch the show – just saying, sometimes things are not as they appear.

What kind of parent would deny a child water? Regardless of what is going on, if a child is thirsty you give them water!She is a mean mean mother! To drink like that and not give her own child a drink shows she is a very controlling, malicious woman.

Chantelle, your argument would hold water if she were actually taking care of these kids on her own. She never has and still doesn’t. And maybe her “whiny” child wouldn’t be so whiny if she were being paraded around in front of cameras for all to see. Obviously there are several interviews set up. If the child was whining for a candy bar, I would agree wit you. But she needed a drink of water. In the time it took Kate to take a drink, the daughter very easily could have had a sip. Whining over. I have 5 kids and I actually do take care of them without any help. I put my kids first and would never do what I witnessed on this video. As for being distracted, this woman chose this life. She chose to have six children at once. Woman just don’t become pregnant with six babies without intervention. The human body was not designed to carry that many babies. She also chose the lifestyle she is living. Sorry for going on, but I am so sick of people playing into what this woman is doing. I can just imagine what these kids will be like in 10 yrs.

MADY IS AND ALWAYS HAS BEEN A DRAMA QUEEN. FROM SEASON 1, SHE’S HAD MOOD SWINGS AND HAS ALWAYS EXAGGERATED EVERYTHING!
I don’t think it was wrong of Kate to not give her drama queen of a daughter what she wants. Kate knows her kids best, so who are we to judge her?

Her daughter should sneak in her room at night and cut off her reverse mullet. I think that reverse mullett is evil.
