Former footballer turned actor Vinnie Jones claims he was acting in self-defense during a bar brawl in Sioux Falls last December.

The alleged victim, Juan Trevino-Barrera, claims Jones was ‘very rude’ and punched him three times in the face.  The brawl allegedly began after Jones tried to join a pool game when witnesses then say Jones became offended when someone asked him if he was “that guy from X-Men” in reference to his role as Juggernaut in the franchise.

 Jones’ lawyer, however  says his client was acting in self-defence when he struck Mr Trevino-Barrera, while on his way to clean his facial injuries.

“Vinnie Jones used very reasonable force in an attempt to protect himself when he finally could,” Mr Wold claimed during opening statements.

However, Sioux Falls police officer Chris Treadway told the court Jones was arrested after admitting punching Mr Trevino-Barrera for heckling and taunting him over his accent.

Mickey Rourke is set to star in the remake of Mona Lisa, a 1986 gangster flick originally directed by Neil Jordan.

Rourke will take on the role of George, formerly played by Bob Hoskins, a gangster who is released from prison only to find that his standing among his colleagues has now diminished to such an extent that he has to work for a call girl named Simone.

Bond girl Eva Green is said to be in talks to take on the role of Simone.

Even though she’s been busy with top box office movies like He’s Just Not That Into You and Marley and Me, Jennifer Aniston is looking to expand her Hollywood repertoire.   She already has 3 production credits under her belt, and says she’s just waiting for the right project

“I’m just waiting for the right thing.”I’m at a place where I feel I can breathe and make some choices that creatively stimulate me. I love acting, but I don’t know if that’s always going to be it.”

Jen’s already made her directoral debut with Room 10, a short film she shot in 2006 that starred Robin Wright Penn and Kris Kristofferson.
