White Stripes drummer Meg White has tied the knot.
She wed fiance Jackson Smith — son of iconic rockers Patti Smith and Fred Smith — in front of close friends and relatives last Friday in Nashville, the band announced Tuesday.
The ceremony, part of a double wedding, took place in the backyard of White’s musical partner (and ex-husbamd), Jack White. The wedding was officiated by reverend Benjamin Swank.
(The other couple that wed Friday was Jack Lawrence and his girlfriend Jo McCaughey, the Associated Press reports. Lawrence is a bass player in Jack White’s other musical projects, the Raconteurs and the Dead Weather.)
Meg and Jackson, who live in Detroit, first announced they were engaged earlier this month.

The duo are currently on location filming ‘The Twilight Saga: New Moon’

Where do Jon and Kate Gosselin go from here?
Even they don’t entirely know, say the couple after the heartbreaking season premiere of their TLC show, Jon & Kate Plus Eight, drew a record-breaking audience of 9.8 million viewers.
“As many couples do, we are navigating a very difficult time,” the couple said in a statement. “Our current situation brings us together around the children and some times sets us apart. We keep our faith that we will make the right decisions for our family.”
In Monday’s highly-anticipated season premiere, the Gosselins came together to throw a fifth birthday party for their sextuplets, but remained unsure about where they stand as a couple following difficulties in their marriage and media scrutiny.
“We will always love our kids,” Jon said on the show, after apologizing to his family. “We will come together for our kids.”
