An Anchorman sequel might finally be moving forward.

Last year, Will Ferrell told EW.com that he and Anchorman director Adam McKay were working on a followup that would bring classy 1970s newsman Ron Burgandy into the 1980s.

On Monday, Ferrell, in Australia promoting Land of the Lost, told Aussie radio hosts Jono & Dano that he expected to meet with Paul Rudd and Steve Carell “next week” to discuss ideas…and salaries: “[Because] believe me, I’m not taking a pay-cut. No way!”

The new issue of Us Weekly reports that Jessica Simpson — who endured much body bullying in ­January for performing in a pair of unflattering high-waisted jeans — recently visited some TV networks to pitch a reality series about society’s scrutiny of women’s bodies.

The premise of the program, titled The Price of Beauty: “She and a friend set off on a road trip around the world in search of what people find beautiful and why,” says a source.

(In a recent Vanity Fair cover story, Simpson talked about criticism of her figure: “It comes with what I do, and I know that every day the media’s going to challenge me.”)

The insider continues that the onetime Newlyweds star, 28, will be hands-on with the show — and will even try some of the “shocking things that women do to make themselves beautiful. Picture Fear Factor.”

The singer’s rep tells Us, “Jessica is indeed working on a new show, but network details have not been finalized at this time.”

Robert Pattinson really sank his teeth into amfAR’s annual Cinema Against AIDS benefit in Cannes, France, on May 21, auctioning two kisses on the cheek for $28,000 apiece. But the Twilight hunk felt even more charitable at the event’s afterparty at Hôtel du Cap, where he gave one lucky lady lots of smooches — free! Robert, 23, strolled into Eden Roc bar and quickly struck up a flirty conversation with gorgeous LA resident Erika Dutra. “Erika was introduced to Robert by a mutual friend at the beginning of the night,” explains an eyewitness, “and from that point on, he was smitten with her.”

The duo holed up in a cozy corner of the bar’s lush balcony and sipped drinks from 1 a.m. to 3:30 a.m. “Robert took pictures of her, and they were even seen kissing,” continues the onlooker. “There was serious chemistry between them, and they looked like they were having an amazing time.”

As Life & Style has reported, Rob’s been pining for his co-star Kristen Stewart for months, so was Erika just a casual hookup or something more? “It’s absolutely possible that you can meet someone on the street and suddenly fall in love with that person,” Robert has admitted in the past. “That often happens to me.”

He’s aware of how his fame has changed the dating game, though. And Erika, who’s an ex–University of Southern California student and the rumored pal of actor Emile Hirsch, seems to understand Robert’s need for discretion: After befriending him on Facebook and plugging his phone number and e-mail address into her BlackBerry in the early hours of May 22, Erika swiftly made her formerly public Facebook friend list private.

Jon and Kate Gosselin’s eight children are being “exploited” for the sake of ratings, Kate’s brother and sister-in-law alleged on CBS’ The Early Show Wednesday.

When the TLC series first aired in 2007, Kevin Kreider, Kate’s younger brother, and his wife, Jodi, thought it was a unique way to document the kids’ lives.

“We thought it was very innocent at the time,” Jodi said. “It quickly turned into more and more demands from Jon and Kate from the network. It turned into 40 episodes in a six-month span.”

“There were cameras in the children’s bedroom at one point, and they were filming all year round,” Jodi said. “These were very huge concerns for us.”

Monday’s season five premiere attracted 9.8 million viewers – more than double the audience for its fourth-season finale several weeks ago. Kevin — who is estranged from his sister Kate — said he and his wife are speaking out now to be “the voices” of their nieces and nephews.

“They’re being viewed as a commodity,” Kevin said.

Added Jodi, “They’re being exploited, and it’s time for America to see the situation for what it really is.”

“Unfortunately, there are no laws protecting children in reality TV shows, and it’s time for the public to be appear of this,” she continued. “These children are very aware of the cameras in their homes. The home is their workplace. This is not a healthy environment for kids to be raised in.” (more…)

Katherine Heigl has hit another stumbling block on her way to movie stardom. Sources say the actress, whose just-concluded season on ABC’s “Grey’s Anatomy” might have been her last, was dropped from a top-tier ensemble cast in the upcoming romantic comedy “Valentine’s Day” because she demanded an astronomical salary.

The flick, which is scheduled to be released in February 2011, is directed by Garry Marshall and has signed such big names as Julia Roberts, Jennifer Garner, Anne Hathaway, Ashton Kutcher, Shirley MacLaine and Bradley Cooper.

An insider told Page Six, “Producers at New Line originally had Katherine on their casting list. They wanted her for the project, but during the talks, she came back demanding $3 million for the role.”

Our source calls that number “ridiculous” because the movie has “an ensemble cast where there is really no one lead role. Actors are only filming between three and 14 days, and no other actors asked for nearly that amount.”

A rep for Heigl told Page Six, “The story is ludicrous. Early negotiations are a daily occurrence in this business, and just for clarification, Katherine walked away from this project for multiple reasons.” A spokeswoman for New Line had “no comment.”

It’s not the first time Heigl has come across as a diva. In 2007, after “Knocked Up,” she told Vanity Fair the Judd Apatow-directed movie “paints the women as shrews, as humorless and uptight, and it paints the men as lovable, goofy, fun-loving guys. I had a hard time with it on some days.”

She also caused a commotion when she withdrew her name from consideration for last year’s Emmy race, slighting the “Grey’s Anatomy” writers by saying, “I do not feel I was given the material this season to warrant a nomination.” Heigl, whose character was dying of brain cancer, did enter herself in this year’s awards nominations.
