Renee Zellweger: I Want a Man Who’s “A Bit of the Boy Scouts Handbook”

Renee Zellweger knows exactly the kind of man she wants.
“I’m looking for an encyclopedia and a dictionary,” she says in Glamour’s “50 Most Glamorous” June issue (on newsstands May 12). “A bit of the Boy Scouts Handbook. A person who is conscientious about the trail he leaves behind him.”
Anything else on the list?
“Love,” she adds. “Unconditional kindness. Basically, I’m looking for the qualities I revere in my friends.”
She says doesn’t have a “type,” but she’s not necessarily seeking romance.
“I’m attracted to intelligence and creativity and passion — and not necessarily the romantic kind,” she tells Glamour. “I want to learn from someone who is greedy for information and light and laughter and the whole world.”
Still, the star is quite content with her single life and admits that whoever she ends up dating better be worth it.
“If I’m going to give it up, it better be good — because I’m having fun!” Zellweger says. “When you think about it, [when you're single] you are not deprived in any way — if anything, it’s a pretty self-indulgent lifestyle. It’s selfish. You can make your own decisions and indulge on an impulse.”
Zellweger — who has dated such stars as Jim Carrey, rocker Jack White and country crooner Kenny Chesney, whom she wed in 2005 and then annulled the marriage four months later — has no regrets.
“I’m grateful for the experiences I’ve accumulated,” she says. “Of course, there are certain things you wish were not on that anyone’s list of life experiences, but it’s a life.”
