After news broke today that Ellen Pompeo is expecting her first child with husband Chris Ivery, the “Grey’s Anatomy” actress happily showed off her little baby bump in a long flowing dress outside of a West Hollywood, CA Whole Foods today. The petite actress couldn’t have appeared more ecstatic, and seems to be happily embracing her new found curves!

The father of Slumdog Millionaire star Rubina Ali reportedly offered to sell his 9-year-old daughter for nearly $300,000, Britain’s News of the World reports.

Trying to confirm that he is fielding several lucrative adoption offers, reporters from the paper posed as a wealthy Middle Eastern family interested in buying the girl.

“I have to consider what’s best for me, my family and Rubina’s future,” said Rubina’s dad, Rafiq Qureshi, who claims to be broke and left with “nothing” from the Oscar-winning flick.

The paper claims that Rubina was originally being sold for $75,000, but her father raised the price after the success of Slumdog.

“The child is special now,” the girl’s uncle said, according to the paper. “This is an Oscar child!”

A rep for Save The Children, a charity with offices in Mumbai, said Rubina’s case should force India to crack down on child and human trafficking.

“The Indian government must sign up to the International Labor Organization’s convention for abolishing the worst forms of child labor and trafficking,” said the group’s director of campaigns Adrian Lovett.

Her father has denied the paper’s claims.

Police called Rubina and her father to a police station on Sunday night and recorded their statements.

“On Sunday, Rubina’s mother Khurshid complained to us that her ex-husband was trying to sell her daughter, saying she saw some reports on television to that effect,” Deputy Commissioner of Police Nisar Tamboli told Reuters.

“It’s great news,” says Allen. “They’re ecstatic.”

The Grey’s Anatomy star, 39, and Ivery, 41, a music producer, were married by New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg in a low-key ceremony in November 2007. The couple met in a grocery store in 2003 and began dating six months later.

Pompeo, who’s recently been spotted shopping for baby gear around Los Angeles, is not the only Seattle Grace doctor having a baby in real life: Costar Chyler Leigh and her husband, Nathan West, are expecting her third child, a girl, in May.

Actress Elisha Cuthbert is thanking her lucky stars after avoiding serious injury when she was recently hit by a car in New York during a night out. Elisha says:

“I have this sort of Kim Bauer reaction. I thought, I can either try and outrun it; I can freeze like a deer in the headlights and break both my knees; or I can jump onto the vehicle and propel myself into the entire intersection, so I did the last one and landed with my purse intact.”

She escaped with only a bad bruise on her bum, and credits 3 locals with chasing down and restraining the driver until the police could arrive.

It looks like Amy Winehouse is taking her efforts at keeping sober seriously. The often troubled, but exceptionally talented Winehouse is slated to play the St. Lucia Jazz Festival next month and has put in a rider request a month ahead of time.

Among the low key demands were tea and HP sauce. She also demanded that all crew and backstage personnel remain sober at all times. That’s quite a change from 2006 when she requested a litany of alcohol including Champagne, vodka, red wine and lager.
