Real Housewives star Jill Zarin “I love my new boobs!”

The ladies of The Real Housewives of Orange County may think bigger is better, but for The Real Housewives of New York City star Jill Zarin, less is definitely more. On April 7, she tells Life & Style in an exclusive interview, she had a breast reduction to bring her 32G-cup chest to a 34DD. “There is no reason anyone should have to suffer from low self-esteem or poor body image,” says Jill. “We have the power to change our bodies in a safe and positive way.” Here’s how and why she did just that.
L&S: What made you decide to get a reduction?
Jill: This was not a decision that happened overnight, that’s for sure. Time and gravity had taken their toll, and I developed health problems, which limited my physical activity over the years. Although they were fabulous assets until my mid-30s, they became a problem as time went on.
L&S: Were you hesitant to talk about it?
Jill: I wanted to go public with my story to show women there is no shame in wanting to look and feel your best as long as it’s done safely. I want to put an end to the rumor that a breast reduction and lift has to be a painful and long procedure.
L&S: How has it changed your life so far?
Jill: I’m still a 34DD and full, so most of my clothing seems to fit — but better. I still have to get the sports bra off, so I won’t really know what to do with them, so to speak, until May 1. I have some new Le Mystère bras waiting for me and can’t wait to go shopping for more. They never made pretty bras for women my size before.
L&S: Was the process easier knowing your family was there for you?
Jill: Absolutely. I could not have done it without my husband, Bobby, and my daughter, Allyson. Bobby took me to the hospital with my parents, Gloria and Sol. My parents stayed until the surgery was over and deemed a success. Bobby stayed with me every second. I’m planning Mother’s Day for Gloria now, and I think a Kodak digital frame will let me show all my photos with the new boobs.

Used to be women would get a reduction for DD’s. Now they seem to be the size women want to attain. Bizarre times we live in.

WHen you get a reduction the size of your rib cage doesn\’t change so she should still be a 32 and a 34dd is equal to a 32ddd so she only went down a cup or two depending on what bra manufacturer she wears. I\’m a bra fitter and plastic surgeons are always quoting their clients the wrong sizes after they have reductions and augmentations.

She probably looks a lot better. Before she looked like she was about to tip over.

i suppose your band size changes when you lose or put on weight. I have a hard time believing she’s that skinny and she had such large natural boobs. I recently lost like 20kg so i went from a 38E to a 34DD. Im also thinking of going for reduction to a 34C, cos Im really petite. but the scarring is pretty massive so thats putting me off. But I agree with what she said, I used to cry in dressing rooms as a teen cos they never had pretty bras my size esp in asia.

Jill is tiny, and she’s a lovely role model. I know Jill as well. She is a dear friend.

I went from a 32DDD to a 34C via a reduction when I was 16. It was the best thing I ever did, even though I had to get some reconstructive surgery on my scars later in life. It was painful, and I have a lot of scarring, but it was worth it, and I encourage any woman in need of one to pursue it. It helped my self-esteem and helped my back–immeasurably. It is covered by insurance, as well. 14 years later, and I’ve put on some weight and filled out to a 32DD, but they aren’t droopy and I don’t feel self-conscious. I really do have nothing but praise for this procedure. PS: They still don’t have hot bras in a 32/34DD. Le sigh.

Big boobs don’t suck Genevieve! I’m a 38 DDD and though the size of my bust does limit my clothing options, it also make me feel feminine and beautiful. Also, some nice cleavage can be the best accessory!

Good for her, that was tooo large on such a small frame, she would be hunched and Im sure she was in agony all the time.

I am getting a breast reduction next week, so it’s nice to hear that two reality stars are both happy with their recent reductions: Jill Zarin and the Millionaire Matchmaker. Hope I am too!

I didn’t realize until this last season how busty she is / was. I thought her bustline looked pretty good, almost like implants. Isn’t it weird how so many women want implants, and then others want reductions? It freaks me out, though.

i just had a breast reduction. i was a 34J at 104 lbs and 4 foot 11 inches, and the doc said he got me down to a big B, small C. They still look big on my petite frame, but i am so much happier. i would recommend it to everyone. the scarring is the only downfall, but it is worth it. my sis had a reduction 4 years ago and you can not even see the scars now because she tanned over them
