AnnaLynne McCord Taking Summer Off to Backpack
She may play the spoiled rich girl on CW’s 90210, but AnnaLynne McCord isn’t opposed to roughing it in real life. In fact, while filming is on hiatus for the next few months, McCord plans to backpack – yes, backpack! – through Europe.
“I’m taking the trains everywhere. It’s been awesome so far,” McCord told PEOPLE at the New York City after party for the world premiere of Fighting, starring Channing Tatum and Terrence Howard. “I’ve been to London, Paris, Madrid, and Barcelona. I actually have 23 cities that I’m circling around.”

Backpacking is something the 21-year-old actress has wanted to do for a long time, she explained. And nothing sounded quite as good as getting away from it all.
“I had several offers for the summer, but I decided there wasn’t anything I really 100 percent wanted to do,” she explained. “I ended up telling my agent, ‘I’m sorry. I’m not available. I’m leaving. Don’t call me. I need some time and I just want to be by myself for a little bit.’ ”
McCord plans to travel solo for most of the journey. “I do have some friends coming out to meet me in different cities, but I’m mostly going by myself. It’s pretty cool,” she said.
