Sydney Andrews returns to Melrose!
The first Melrose Place veteran has been cast in the CW’s new Melrose Place series, and the actress going back to work is… Laura Leighton.
Laura, who played nutty schemer Sydney Andrews, will be on the show in a recurring role. Although her character was presumed dead at the end of season five, she apparently survived being mowed down by a car and will be back playing the landlord to the new crop of tenants.
Already cast in the series are Ashlee Simpson, Katie Cassidy and Jessica Lucas.
Laura’s two-episode stint on the original Melrose was a big win for her. It was her first acting gig and led to a job on the series for four years. It’s also where she met her husband Doug Savant, who was Matt Fielding on the series and now appears on Desperate Housewives. They have two children.
