UPDATE on Lindsay Lohan’s arrest warrant.

90226w10_lohan_b_gr_01.jpg

From TMZ:

We know exactly why Lindsay Lohan is being hauled into court Monday and it’s no big deal — probably.

Here’s why an arrest warrant was issued. Lindsay was in an alcohol ed program for more than a year and was in full compliance with her probation. Sources say not too long ago she decided to switch programs. She either was late or missed one of the classes at the new program — she says because the paparazzi made it impossible for her to show up on schedule. So the program director sounded the alarm last week to the court. And that’s why the judge issued a warrant.

Based on what we know this is not a big deal and Lindsay’s new lawyer, Shawn Chapman Holley, should be able to have the warrant 86′d — no problemo. The only wild card: There’s a new judge on the case and she’s really tough.

We’re told Lindsay will not show for the appearance unless the judge decides she wants her there.

UPDATE: We know more now about Lindsay Lohan’s court appearance and why there’s a warrant out for her arrest.

The alcohol ed program director told the court Lindsay missed three days of classes in a 21-day period. But we’re told the argument is that two of the absences were excused. That leaves one, and as we’ve already reported Lindsay’s excuse for being a no show was the paparazzi made it impossible for her.

Lindsay’s lawyer, Shawn Chapman Holley, will be arriving shortly without her client.

Stay tuned.

Drew Barrymore and Justin Long – back on!

justin_drew.jpg

Eight months after breaking up, Drew Barrymore and Justin Long had two, romantic dates back-to-back in LA this week. The on-again couple walked into Hollywood hotspot Bar Marmont on Thurs., March 12, arm in arm, surprising onlookers. “Drew walked in with Justin, and all heads turned. They were definitely acting like more than friendly exes!” an eyewitness tells Life & Style.

Drew and Justin spent the next few hours engaging in full-on PDA. “They couldn’t get enough of each other. I don’t think they even noticed that there were other people in the room! In between kisses it was all smiles and laughs.” The next night, the lovers reunited at Ike sushi in Hollywood. “They sat at the sushi bar and ordered Sake and dinner. They were both in a great mood. They were smiling ear to ear the whole time, and laughing and looking they were so happy they were going to burst,” an eyewitness tells Life & Style.

“Once they polished off the sake, Justin ordered a Sapporo beer and split it with Drew. Justin grabbed Drew’s hand and held it on his thigh. They looked in love. They finished their dinner with him springing for the tab, and walked out arm in arm.”

Whitney Port and Jay Lyon break up!

whitneyjay-bw.jpg

“The City’s” Whitney Port and her reality show boyfriend, Jay Lyon, have called it quits, a friend of Whitney’s reveals to In Touch. “They broke up on Monday,” said the friend. “Whitney did it over the phone, she was basically just not happy for a while and decided she really wanted to end it. Jay said they should talk things over, but it seems her mind is made up.”

The couple agreed to take a break while Jay toured with his band Tamarama, as shown in this week’s episode, but later reconciled. “The episode that aired on Monday was filmed over a month ago. They got back together after that, but now Whitney has dumped him for good,” says the friend.

The couple met and began dating last summer when Whitney began filming MTV’s “The City” and moved to Manhattan. They had been dating ever since. “There was no cheating or anything like that, she’s just finally fed up,” the friend says. “She asked her close friends for advice and thinks it’s best her and Jay both go their separate ways. He’s not going to change and she’s just sick of it.”

Death Cab for Cutie “Grapevine Fires” video‏

Atlantic recording group Death Cab for Cutie has unveiled a must-see new video for “Grapevine Fires,” one of the stand-out tracks on their RIAA gold certified Grammy nominated “NARROW STAIRS.”

“Grapevine Fires” was initially inspired by DCFC vocalist/guitarist Ben Gibbard’s up-close-and-personal encounter with 2007′s California wildfires. The song – which was recently included on “CHANGE IS NOW: RESTORING AMERICA’S PROMISE,” the official commemorative CD-DVD set celebrating President Barack Obama’s historic inauguration – motivated Walter Robot to create an animated short film which brilliantly relays the sense of devastating tragedy and forced optimism caused by the fire’s wrath.

Since coming together in 2007, Walter Robot have been hailed for their ingenious and imaginative work, blending live action and animation in a wide range of music videos, commercials, and experimental films. Among the prolific duo’s recent credits are collaborations with Gnarls Barkley and Modest Mouse as well as an animated alliance with journalist Joel Stein, entitled Joel Stein’s Completely Unfabricated Adventures, which was an official entry at the Sundance Film Festival 09.

“I have been an admirer of the beautiful art of Walter Robot from afar for a while, ” says Death Cab bassist Nick Harmer. “Working with them on this video is an amazing dream come true and I am in awe of the stunning video they have made for us.”

“We’re huge Death Cab fans,” says Walter Robot. “We had also heard from other directors how great all the Death Cab guys are and how really open they are to the creative process, which they were. They were extremely supportive and sincere.”

In other DCFC news, the Seattle-based band has just returned from a long awaited headline tour of Australia and Japan and is now set to kick off a spring schedule on April 7th at the Tower Theatre in Upper Darby, Pennsylvania. The dates then continue through a May 7th show at Orlando, Florida’s Hard Rock Live. Support throughout the tour comes from Cold War Kids, Matt Costa, and Ra Ra Riot (see itinerary below).

America’s Next Top Melee: NYC Model Tryouts End in Disaster

And you thought the onscreen catfights on America’s Next Top Model were good…

New York police arrested three people following a massive stampede that erupted during a casting call for the new season of the Tyra Banks-powered reality contest—a melee that involved hundreds of people outside a Central Park hotel.

At least six people were injured, two of whom were hospitalized, in a scene that left the surrounding vicinity looking like Fashion Week meets Thunderdome and shut down the auditions.

Police said they did not immediately know what triggered the crush of bodies, but according to the New York Daily News, the combination of would-be catwalkers (all under 5-foot-7 this cycle) waiting on line for hours and a broken-down BMW proved combustible.

A fight had broken out among some of the bystanders; then, moments later, the car appeared, spewing smoke, and reportedly led to shouts that a bomb had gone off. (more…)
