The New York City medical examiner has made a ruling on what exactly killed Natasha Richardson.
Following an autospy this morning, the agency determined that the Tony Award-winning actress succumbed to an “epidural hematoma due to blunt impact to the head.” The death was ruled an accident, said medical examiner spokeswoman Ellen Borakove.
A private memorial is being planned by the Greenwich Village Funeral Home.
The 45-year-old stage and screen star died Wednesday, two days after what was described as a minor fall during ski lessons on a beginner slope.
Richardson was lucid following the tumble Monday at the Mont Tremblant resort near Montreal. “She did not show any visible sign of injury, but the ski patrol followed strict procedures and brought her back to the bottom of the slope and insisted she should see a doctor,” a spokeswoman for the resort told E! News.
But, according to the Toronto Globe and Mail, paramedics were turned back after being informed they were not needed.
“They never saw the patient, so they turned around,” said Yves Coderre, director of operations at Ambulances Radisson, the emergency services company for the resort. (more…)

Us Weekly has the exclusive video of LeAnn Rimes and Eddie Cibrian kissing, holding hands — and even sucking on each other’s fingers during a March 7 date at Mosun and Club M in Laguna Beach, California.
Twenty-two seconds into the clip, Cibrian arrives at the restaurant and they walk in hand-in-hand. Then they’re seated — as seen in the center left of the frame — and proceed to hold hands (36 seconds) and kiss (1:47). At the 2:10 mark, Rimes suggestively sucks on Cibrian’s finger. They leave together shortly after.
Us Weekly has seen the $95 receipt for the dinner, as paid for by Cibrian on his credit card and signed by him.
The newest issue also shows photos of Cibrian and Rimes meeting up for a three-hour tryst March 14 at the Malibu Beach Inn — where the blinds were closed and a do not disturb sign was placed on the door. Cibrian was not wearing his wedding ring.
All the while, Cibrian’s pickup truck sat in the parking lot with a visible child’s car seat in the back. The actor has two sons, ages 5 and 23 months, with model wife Brandi Glanville.
While Rimes has acknowledged she and husband Dean Sheremet are going through “a difficult time,” she has not denied a relationship with Cibrian.
Yet Cibrian claims the story is false.
“It is a fabricated story that is using random snapshots as connective tissue to create a scandalous relationship,” the actor, who most recently appeared in Ugly Betty and Samantha Who?, tells Access Hollywood in a statement.
Their Lifetime movie, Northern Lights, airs March 21.
