Madonna is trying to adopt another child from the impoverished African country of Malawi.

An official at the Malawi welfare department confirms to the Associated Press that the singer, 50, has filed adoption papers. Another source tells the AP that she is visiting Malawi this weekend and that a court could hear her adoption case as early as Monday. A U.S. government official also confirms the AP’s report.

Her rep Liz Rosenberg has yet to comment.

Earlier this week, New York’s Daily News reported that Madonna’s attempts to adopt again could be hindered due to her love life.

“Our official policy is that we do not encourage our children to be sent into broken homes,” a senior official from Malawi’s Ministry of Women and Child Welfare Development said of the singer, who has romanced 22-year-old model Jesus Luz and Alex Rodriguez since divorcing Guy Ritchie last year. “Her relationships may negatively affect the adoption of Mercy.”

Madonna adopted son David Banda, 3, from Malawi in 2006. She has expressed interest in wanting to adopt another child.

“Many people – especially our Malawian friends – say that David should have a Malawian brother or sister,” she recently told Malawi’s The Nation newspaper. “It’s something I have been considering but would only do if I had the support of the Malawian people and the government.”

Beyonce is a woman who knows what she wants.

Last year she was so taken with Thierry Mugler’s designs for the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Superheroes exhibition, that she recruited him as creative adviser for her world tour. Today images of his designs have been revealed and they do not disappoint! Mugler explained to WWD, “Sasha Fierce is another aspect of Beyonce’s personality. She is Fierce on stage and Beyonce in real life. I tried to understand these two sides with my own perception of both aspects.” He added that the spirit he is trying to evoke is,”The duality between being a woman and a warrior.”

Creative director Mugler has also worked on lighting and sets for the tour in which we should expect to see the singer “metamorphosis” on stage.

The show kicks off tonight in Edmonton, Canada and I can’t wait to see Beyonce in these fierce designs!

Kirsten Dunst is seen leaving Joan on Third and rides shotgun in a friends car. The pair had bought food to go and then proceeded to drive to the park at the La Brea Tar Pits in the Miracle Mile district. The pair walked in together but where later joined by 2 unknown male companions. Together the group soaked up the sunshine and had a good laugh together. After over an hour in the sun, they packed up and went back to their cars and left the park.

Lindsay Lohan got some reel bad news this week: Her new movie, Labor Pains, is headed straight to cable.

The film’s production company, Nu Image/Millennium Films, has confirmed that the comedy will premiere on ABC Family in July 2009. It will be released on DVD a month later.

In the film — which wrapped last August — Lohan plays a woman who fakes being pregnant to save herself from being fired. She must then keep the lie going for nine months.

It is the latest film dud for the star, whose last movie efforts include the critically-panned indie Chapter 27 and I Know Who Killed Me. She briefly appeared on ABC’s Ugly Betty.

This week, the much-scrutinized star, 22, complained, “If people would just leave my personal life alone – because it’s really not that interesting – then I could land a great role. But all the sicko fans and the noise is so distracting.”

“I’d like to have my own charity, do work overseas, be in Oscar-nominated films, write movies, produce movies/shows/videos, design cloths, make music, write books,” she said. “It’s all possible if people would just stop judging me and accusing me and making me out to be this aloof, spoiled, ungrateful and unprofessional person that I am not and could never be.”
