I know this isn’t celebrity news…but it was still shocking, had to share!
This is the Yves Saint Laurent chair that stunned the auction world when it sold for $28.3 million USD – more than seven times its pre-sale estimate of $3.8 million USD. The piece, designed by Eileen Gray and dubbed ‘The Dragons’, sat in the designer’s sitting room. It was sold by auction house Christie’s in Paris on Tuesday [Feb 24]. The chair was made in 1917, or slightly later, by Gray, an Irish architect and furniture designer, for her first commission as an interior decorator. The sale came on the second day of Christie’s three-day auction of the late Yves Saint Laurent’s 733-piece collection, held at the Grand Palais in Paris.
Funny People: Over the past few years, writer/director Judd Apatow (‘The 40-Year-Old Virgin,’ ‘Knocked Up’) has shown that nothing — not even losing your virginity or the miracle of childbirth — is sacred. About his third film behind the camera, he says, “I’m trying to make a very serious movie that is twice as funny as my other movies. Wish me luck!” Apatow directs Adam Sandler, Seth Rogen and Leslie Mann in ‘Funny People,’ the story of a famous comedian who has a near-death experience.
Adam Sandler, Eric Bana, Jason Schwartzman, RZA and newcomer Aubrey Plaza join a cast that reunites Judd Apatow with Seth Rogen, Leslie Mann and Jonah Hill in their third comedy together.
The Promotion: Oscar-nominated actor, John C. Reilly (Chicago, Talladega Nights) and Seann William Scott (American Pie) lend their deft comedic touch to the story of two mid-level Chicago supermarket employees – Doug and Richard, a dubious new guy from Canada – who compete ruthlessly for a coveted managerial post at a new store location. Doug and Richard could not be more different, but going head-to-head in a contest of wits and will reveals how they have more in common than they once suspected. The duo battle toward a hilarious final showdown that will leave you guessing until the very end. The film is the directorial debut of Steve Conrad, the writer of the The Pursuit of Happyness.

Jason Wahler has called off his engagement from Katja Decker Sadowski, 21. “I have decided to end my engagement, and it’s an amicable split,” the Hills star, 22, tells Us. Wahler — who has also dated Lauren Conrad — says they’re “still good friends. “We agreed we are both just too young to be considering getting married right now,” he added.
Last June, Sadowski (a University of Southern California student) told Us she wanted to wed “sooner rather than later. “But my parents want me to finish school first and that won’t be until 2010,” she said. “So we want to do it probably a little bit before graduation, but I need my parents’ help to plan the wedding!” The actor is currently shopping around a dating reality show called Jason and the Cougars.

She looks really cute.
