What did you think of the Top Chef finale!

I’ll put my post behind the cut…in case you haven’t seen it yet…

I can’t believe that Hosea won! I really liked Stefan. I know a lot of people didn’t like him, but I always did. I think he should have won – based on the whole season. He won like every challenge! Hosea kicked butt in the finale, but was he the best of the three? I don’t think so!
What did you think?

I’m beyond pissed. Hosea did not deserve that. Carla and Stefan were way more deserving and if you read Toby’s blog today, its very interesting.
There’s gonna be outcry for this. Hosea=NOT TOP CHEF. He was such a douche!

I think everyone discounted Carla. Until she screwed up by listening to that loser Casey, she was the clear winner for me, and I think for the judges too.

I was 50/50 on it, Hosea didn’t always have great dishes, however he was able to pull it out during a time of high stress. Stefan was a great cook…too cocky though-maybe if he put his ego aside for a few, he might have won. I’m just ‘ehh’ on Carla…she bugged me all season.

I also thought Stefan had it nailed. If Carla hadn’t listened to Casey, she had a real shot at taking it. The judges all loved her soul food. Hosea was just mediocre through the whole season, it seemed strange that they chose him. Stefan was robbed.

Stefan’s ego got in the way. he thought his other dishes would push him over the edge but the finale showed that whatever you put on your plate counts. i agree with the judges with the judges, it was nice that he showed he’s able to do desserts but he didn’t put much thought into it. i do think he is a better chef than Hosea.
i loved Carla, she really pulled through in the end and i hope she’s learned to trust herself more. if she’d gone through with her gut instinct, she would’ve been Top Chef.

I agree with most of you…
I was very disappointed that Hosea won.
I was betting on Stefan and reallllly rooting for Fabio before he was kicked off.
I also think Carla had it in the bag until her last round of dishes – but she unfortunately did someone else’s dishes and not hers.
I think it was very anti-climatic but then again my favorite chef has never won Top Chef, so I guess I shouldn’t be surprised…

Come on, pride comes before the fall! Sure Stefan won the most challenges, but he let his cockiness interfere with the most important challenges. The winner should have been one that really cared about winning, NOT someone who just thought all Americans should bow down to European greatness.
Besides, you all KNOW how Top Chef works. It is a meal-by-meal competition, so Hosea deserved his win.
Carla did poorly the first half of the season, had some great dishes in the end, but absolutely blew it in the finale. Any chef who doesn’t cook by his/her own standards DOES NOT deserve the title.
Congrats Hosea!
