Octuplets’ Mother Receives Public Assistance
My personal opinion – is that this woman is obsessed with Angelina Jolie. She has had plastic surgery to look like Angelina, and is now having children like Angelina. I think she’s not right in the head. What do you think? I honestly think she’s just a crazed Brangeloonie fan.
Nadya Suleman, who gave birth to octuplets last month, is getting public assistance.
According to the Los Angeles Times, the 33-year-old Whittier, Calif., resident will receive $490 a month in food stamps. Three of her first six children are also disabled and receiving federal assistance. (Her publicist Michael Furtney declined to reveal the children’s disabilities.)
Suleman recently told the Today show’s Ann Curry that she was not on welfare. (Suleman and Furtney didn’t consider the food stamps and SSI to be welfare, according to the Times.)
“In Nadya’s view, the money that she gets from the food stamp program … and the resources disabilities payments she gets for her three children are not welfare,” he said. “They are part of programs designed to help people with need, and she does not see that as welfare.”
The revelation comes after Suleman’s mother Angela said she — who is pursuing her master’s degree in counseling — for impregnating herself after giving birth to six children because she has “no means to support” 14 children.
“To have them all is unconscionable to me,” she told Radaronline.com in an interview that aired on ABC’s Good Morning America. “She really really has no idea what she’s doing to her children and to me.”
Angela said that she’s been housing and supporting her daughter and her six grandchildren in a “cramped,” three-bedroom apartment for years. The babies are fed in shifts and “there’s children’s clothing piled all over the house,” she added.
Added Suleman’s mother: “How she’s going to cope, I don’t know.”

I thought she looked like Angelina but I didn’t realize she paid to have that done. I think she’s got a screw loose as well. 14 kids on purpose with no visible career, living off of her mother, and the state, is just ridiculous. Psycho.

I think this is the most riciculous thing I have ever heard. She should be held on child abuse. And the man that provided the sperm for all 14 kids should be payng child support. Also what crazy doctor would give this woman invitro. He\she should be heldup to the medical board!

Unfortuanatley people don’t have to take a psych test to be parents. It’s sad, I see unfit parents every day and there is nothing to be done about it.

She’s crazy. I don’t know how she plans on going back to school with she’s going to have 14 kids at home. I am sure at least a few of these preemies are going to have special needs. Her life is going to constist of dr and therapy appointments.

I saw her interview and couldn’t believe that this woman was for real! how could she afford to have invitro AND plastic surgery, yet can’t provide a decent home and good life for her kids?! and what she said about wanting to have lots of children because she was an only child, and how SHE wanted these children – obviously, she doesn’t think of them as human beings, but some cildhood trauma cure for her spoiled selfish self. disgusting really!

How sad that this woman is permitted to have so many children she can’t take care of when there are so many childless families out there who are more able and wanting of just one child. When will the State step in and call her unfit? What will happen if her mother, god forbid, cannot help anymore? Forgo a reality tv show and step into reality!

i think that everyone should just leave her alone and let her do what she is going to do.. Its wrong of everyone to judge her no matter how wrong you think it is because its her life and her decision..

I think the doctor is as equally if not more responsbile than the crazy mother. The doctor should be held accountable and he should be made to support these babies.

I wish people would get over it and let the lady live her life…the children looked perfectly happy and it looks like she is doing a great job..as far as her getting threats and having to go into hiding, that is ridiculous, those kids have to go to school soon and then what…i wish everyone would just leave her alone and mind their own business!!!

Fancy that this woman is asking for donations on a website due to the fact that she is unemployed and single. DO THE DONATIONS GO TO HER PLASTIC SURGEON, OR HER MANICURIST, OR BOTH?

She had plastic surgery to look like that?! First of all-where did she get the money for that? And, I think she’s a wacko for SURE. I don’t think it’s right that she should have all of those children to take care of when so so clearly can’t.

It’s actually not just her life and her decision – this is about the children. While I don’t think people should belittle her for whatever she may look like, she does need to be held accountable to those children. It’s not about her, once you decide to have children, it ceases to be about you, it’s about the kids.

She should have saved that money on plastic surgery for her kids. I dont know what she was thinking – maybe she thought that by having the most kids she would get the most attention and get publicity or a show or whatever.
