Kanye West is planning a quiet New Year’s Eve – he will spend the night at home for the first time in five years.

The Stronger hitmaker has had a busy 12 months, performing almost 100 concerts, and plans to take it easy as the clock strikes twelve on December 31st.

He writes on his blog, “If there’s any parties on New Year’s with my name on it, doooon’t youuuu belieeeeeve it! I’m staying at home for the first time in five years. We did 98 shows this past year!!! I just want to chill, hoop and watch some movies!

Nicole Richie is addicted to sending sexy text messages. The star – who has a 10-month-old daughter Harlow with partner Joel Madden – can’t resist telling Joel all her steamy bedroom fantasies when they are apart.

Nicole’s former bodyguard said: “She is a pistol who says exactly what is on her mind. When she is not with Joel, she is constantly sending sexy text messages, telling him what she is wearing and what she wants to do with him when she gets home.”

Nicole also has another vice – splashing out on expensive clothes and shoes.

Another former bodyguard revealed: “She doesn’t like to wear anything twice, so she figures she needs to stock up. She can easily blow 1,000 a week on shoes – she loves Louboutins, which can go for over 1,000. And spending 1,000 on three pairs of jeans in a week is no biggie for Nicole.”

Britney Spears wants to stop nibbling her nails. The 27-year-old singer admits that she needs to take better care of her talons in 2009.

She said: “Next year, I have to stop biting my nails!”

But while launching a comeback with her new album ‘Circus’ and finding time to see her sons Sean Preston, three, and Jayden James, two – the ‘Lucky’ singer doesn’t expect her resolution to last long.

She confessed: “I end up breaking [resolutions]. It’s hard.”

After a rocky start to the year, Britney is determined to focus on her well-being.

She added: “I would like to stop worrying so much, because I worry all the time.”

Tom Cruise and his wife Katie Holmes are living in fear after receiving death threats.

Sources close to the star, a leading Scientologist, say the threats are believed to have come from groups opposed to the religious organisation.

The Mail on Sunday can reveal that security has been stepped up around Cruise, 46, Holmes, 30, and their two-year-old daughter Suri.

The couple now live at separate locations and move around in bomb-proof vehicles.

Other protesters have been angered by Cruise’s portrayal of Colonel Claus von Stauffenberg – who was at the center of the 1944 plot by Nazi officers to assassinate Adolf Hitler – in the film Valkyrie.

Last week Cruise attended the Los Angeles premiere of the movie, which was targeted by protesters from the anti-Scientology group Anonymous. He has been forced to increase security around his family since then.

‘The threats are perceived to be so great that the FBI has been alerted,’ said a source.

Cruise is due to fly to London for the UK premiere on January 21. ‘Tom is terrified. He doesn’t feel safe anywhere,’ the source added.

Cruise has spent £5million on an underground bunker in the grounds of his estate in Colorado. In August, threats were made to place anthrax in the air vents of his Los Angeles office.

When Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin confirmed that her teenage daughter, Bristol, and boyfriend Levi Johnston were expecting a baby, the celebrity weeklies knew that the first photos of the Palin-Johnston baby would incite a bidding war. Baby Tripp Easton Mitchell Johnston, born Dec. 28, proved those editors right.

According to one source, bidding for the baby photos began at $100,000. People won out in the end, but In Touch was the only other weekly to make serious bids, according to several sources involved in the process.

The price didn’t soar immediately, according to the sources, because Sarah Palin stories just didn’t sell all that well for the weeklies on newsstands.

“Sarah was on the cover of People, Us Weekly, and OK! the same week, and really only People saw a bump in sales,” says a source.

The drug-related arrest of Johnston’s mother, however, caused the price tag for the photos to go up.

“The bidding started well before the baby was born, but once Levi’s mom was arrested — well, then you had a story,” says one editor.

As for how much teen parents Bristol and Levi made from the deal — most estimates hover around the $300,000 range (none of the magazines would confirm the exact figure in the end, which is standard).

No word on whether the money will go to charity, as sometimes happens in a celeb baby deal.

They are reportedly heading to Ethiopa to add another orphan to their well-loved brood, but as Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt await this seventh child, they’re struggling with the news that they may never have another biological baby, sources say.

OK! has learned that because Angie’s last two pregnancies were so fraught with complications, she has been advised to wait a long time before getting pregnant again – or not to get pregnant at all.

“Her previous pregnancies ended with emergency caesarian secions,” an insider tells OK!. “She’s been told that, at the least, she should not get pregnant for a year after her last deliver, and it would be safer if she did not get pregnant, ever.”

The health complications this time around could pose a direct danger to the Changeling star, Dr. Larrian Gillespie, who has not treated Angie, tells OK!.

“Angelina is at risk of having a stroke or heart attack, and because she developed gestational diabetes, there is a high risk she’ll have it again, with the child being at risk for diabetes.”

Not being a biological mom again might be hard for Angelina, as she revealed to Vanity Fair last year that she loves being pregnant.

“It makes me feel like a woman,” she said. “Also, I happen to be with someone who finds pregnancy very sexy.”

No laughing matter!

According to a witness at the No on H8 show at The ­Improv in Hollywood on Dec. 16, Twilight star Robert Pattinson, 22, booed a comic who said, “Here’s my impression of Heath Ledger,” then collapsed and began faking convulsions.

“Robert and his friend went nuts yelling at him,” the source tells Us Weekly. “[Pattinson screamed] f–k you! You suck!”

But the actor — who recently cut his famous hair — went unrecognized by the performing comic.

“The comic didn’t know who it was, but I’m sure he found out later!” the source tells Us.
