Lipstick Jungle CANCELLED!

While I like the idea of this show – for the most part, it’s really sucked this season. Everyone’s character is terribly boring. I don’t blame NBC (but I feel bad for the actresses!).
No big shock here: Sources confirm that NBC has canceled struggling dramas Lipstick Jungle and My Own Worst Enemy.
NBC isn’t commenting, but multiple insiders say that the network informed Enemy and Lipstick producers today that they would not be ordering additional episodes. It remains unclear whether both shows will be pulled from the schedule immediately.
One thing it will be pulled from immediately: my DVR!

I am beyond furious about the cancelling of MOWE. It was the one show on NBC I really liked. It was doomed because Heroes isn’t a strong performer anymore, so, it isn’t a good lead in. NBC needs to stay with the show for a bit and allow it’s audience to grow. They pulled this crap last year with Journeyman, which I also liked. I am going to be beyond pissed when they replace it with another hour of Deal or No Deal.
November 13th, 2008 at 10:32 am
THAT SUCKS BIG TIME about Lipstick Jungle! Because I was really getting into it. Are they going to do this to every show? What’s the point of watching primetime TV? So mad!I am sticking to HBO shows and of course MAD MEN…this is RIDICULOUS!
November 13th, 2008 at 10:45 am
Completely agree about MOWE. BIG mistake. One of the better shows of the new season.
November 13th, 2008 at 10:55 am
Darn. I was really starting to like Lipstick Jungle. I’m disappointed!
November 13th, 2008 at 10:59 am
I am ticked I really liked Lipstick Jungle.
November 13th, 2008 at 7:22 pm
Lipstick Jungle is one of my favorite shows on right now. When I heard it was getting canelled I was very angry, and still am!
November 14th, 2008 at 8:31 am
Lipstick Jungle was a great show that they tanked when they moved it to Fridays. I believe they were going to cancel it all along and just pushed it to Friday to open a new time slot. Thats the problem with these networks, they don’t give a show a chance for their audience to grow. They want real numbers now and when they don’t get them… They give it the axe! Thats why there is no more good TV. I agree with the others, stick to cable TV shows. At least you’ll get an ending!
November 14th, 2008 at 10:33 am
I had a bad feeling when it was suddenly moved to Friday… this is absolutely terrible news – Lipstick Jungle is my favorite show, even surpassing Grey’s for me. And as you can see from the posts on this page the show was developing a good following and didn’t give it a chance! Sorry NBC you just canceled the only show I watched on your station and now lost a viewer completely!
November 14th, 2008 at 6:55 pm
I was devastated to hear that Lipstick Jungle has been cancelled. This is the ONLY show that I religiously keep up with each week. Very disappointed!! Any chance that HBO or another cable channel could pick it up? Everyone is complaining that the writing for shows has been lacking lately, but this is the one show where there writers have nailed it and it is cut…. go figure.
November 15th, 2008 at 2:28 am
I can not believe dat lipstick jungle is cancelled!! This ppl need to leave it on, it helps men & woman about today’s issues in men & women work world & its theraputic!!! Its a different show from others & the writting is excellent! They maybe a sorta clichès but the scripts are original & they need to expose it to more ppl or advertise it on more channels! COME ON AM I DA ONLY ONE THAT FEELS THIS WAY! Ugh dis sucks!!
November 15th, 2008 at 2:33 am
S has a point, they shouldnt of changed it to Fridays! Its better it stays on weds! Or EVEN BETTER PUT IT ON MONDAYS OR TUESDAYS!! That’s’ a way better plot & it will catch the audience in a better time!!
November 15th, 2008 at 5:29 am
love the show. hate to see it go. why do they always pull the good shows. maybe a few more woman should be in networking. way better than desperate housewives. the one show i can get lost in for 1 hour. i’m bummed it is going to be cancelled.
November 15th, 2008 at 8:36 pm
I love Lipstick Jungle….can we do anything to change their minds?
November 17th, 2008 at 12:07 pm
Lipstick Jungle is one of the best shows on TV. I am VERY dissapointed it is cancelled.
November 17th, 2008 at 2:37 pm
My husband and I love this show! It’s better than Desperate Housewives and Grey’s! I just read that Brooke Shields said they aren’t actually getting canceled. I hope this is true! They deserve a chance!
November 17th, 2008 at 9:24 pm
I love this show! It is my favorite. I am very disappointed that it is going to be cancelled I hope another station will pick it up. Too bad NBC but you have now lost me as a viewer.
November 17th, 2008 at 9:26 pm
I a very disappointed that Lipstick Jungle is being cancelled. I didn’t see it last season but it is my favorite show! Please NBC change your mind.
Betty
November 18th, 2008 at 11:28 am
I’m done with primetime You get into a show and they cancel it with 0 regard for the time wasted on tuning in They don’t even have the decency to give the audience an ending. This happens too often. I’ll stick to HBO & Showtime, etc. from now own.
November 19th, 2008 at 8:28 pm
WHAT??!!? I cannot believe this. Lipstick is 1 of 2 shows I watch on tv. Why??
November 20th, 2008 at 8:17 am
Hey…heard on the radio this morning that it is NOT being cancelled…I can only hope! Love this show too and was really bummed when I found out it was going to be cancelled…on my birthday no less =0(
November 21st, 2008 at 8:49 am
I LOVE LIPSTICK JUNGKE :/ I cant believe they’re cancelling it!!
November 21st, 2008 at 4:37 pm
I truly enjoy watching this show, I hope they change their minds. My sister, brother-in-law, and I all look forward to watching it every week.
November 22nd, 2008 at 7:00 pm
What’s the deal,Lipstick Jungle is a GREAT show,my favorite one on TV. Maybe if they promoted it more people would tune in, cause if they watched it only once they would be hooked. Lipstick is my best and most awaited hour of the week. Get a grip, take a moment to rethink this BAD decision. It truly deserves to stay on, even for another season!!
November 23rd, 2008 at 7:15 am
OMG I was so upset when I knew one of my favorite tv shows was cancelled. cant believe iT! it was really great and i was so into it, i loved lipstick jungle, no way!!!!! no more Kirby . i’m so devastated!!!!!!!!
November 23rd, 2008 at 4:02 pm
I’so mad the Lipstick Jungle is cancelled! I love the program and don’t see why they would give it the axe! It’s sooo good and hopefully they will pick it up again. Keep your fingers crossed fans!
November 23rd, 2008 at 9:08 pm
Lipstick Jungle is a great show! Is there any way to get the network to reconsider? I have heard of other shows being saved.
November 26th, 2008 at 3:11 pm
No dont cancel the show, that show is the best ever. dont u want victory and joe 2 get 2gether?
November 27th, 2008 at 5:04 pm
NOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!! I have 3 kids, and I’m married this is my only escape. My only ME time! I love this show, I love Niko, and Kirby. Please for us desperate people don’t cancel this show
November 28th, 2008 at 12:46 pm
I really think Lipstick Jungle is a great show!!! Would the network reconsider. Finally, the first show since Sex…that I could hardly wait to see.
November 29th, 2008 at 5:34 pm
To all you “Lipstick” viewers…
Don’t you GET it?? You and most of the other comments above indicate that the majority of the viewers of Lipstick are 30 and 40 somethings…Don’t you know by now that other than the nightly news shows, NOTHING, but NOTHING is geared towards anyone over the age of 25!!!!
Don’t complain HERE (on this site..) contact the damn advertisers of Lipstick, one of which was Maybelline..Stupid Idiots!!! Don’t they think that women over 35 or 45 use mascara?????? It is ALWAYS the sponsors behind shows being pulled, it seems every sponsor on earth wants the Miley Cyrus crowd!! Don’t they realize we spend more money on cosmetics than teeny boppers or 25 year olds who don’t NEED makeup????? BOYCOTT MAYBELLINE!!!!
November 29th, 2008 at 6:20 pm
I can’t believe this show has been cancelled. This is one of the only shows I watch. It should have never moved to Friday nights. I think if they tried another night it would have done better. I am so bummed. They could have waited until the end of the season
December 1st, 2008 at 5:56 pm
I am so irritated!! Why bring it back after one season and then tank it? I am over 40 and this is a great show for women in their 30s and 40s that are not trying to succeed in business, trying to stay in shape and up to date with fashion. Don’t cancel it – PLEASE!!!!!
December 1st, 2008 at 8:52 pm
Come on now! Lipstick Jungle was something to record and look forward to watching when all the “can’t possibly happen shows” are airing. Do we all have to cater to the sophomoric demands of the under 25 crowd? Oh, I know –it’s an escape from our routine lives, but what the heck, we all need it!
December 2nd, 2008 at 12:53 pm
Is there a website we can petition to keep the show on??? this sucks I luv the show!!
December 3rd, 2008 at 9:17 am
I just saw an update for Brooke Shields and it mentioned Lipstick Jungle being cancelled. I’m sick of reality shows, this show is for middle age women going through our daily life struggles. I cant believe NBC would cancel this show. This was my Friday night at the movies for my “me time”. NBC you need to renegotiate and put it back on, SOON!
December 3rd, 2008 at 12:51 pm
NBC needs to hire people who understand their audiences better! Guaranteed the vast majority of Lipstick Jungle’s viewers are mothers who are exhausted and in bed by 10 (the time of the original Wednesday slot). It’s pretty hard to pull in viewers when they’re asleep. If they’d put it in a better time slot to begin with it would’ve done so much better. They doomed it from the start. Such a shame…can’t handle any more reality shows and this show was EXCELLENT.
December 4th, 2008 at 9:21 am
I LOVE Lipstick Jungle. Something I looked forward to watching every week, until they moved it to Fridays.
December 4th, 2008 at 6:01 pm
Oh that’s right all professional women over 40 live in New York ,dress beautifully and go out to some really fabulous places! NBC get a grip!!! Your job of entertaining should include entertaining intelligent, well educated working women that may not live in NY but enjoy a great escape…you know for fun!!! For the rest of us schmucks who come home exhausted and love to plop down to Lipstick Jungle once a week (or delayed because we are working!) we are beyond irritated that you are letting go of this winner.
I’ll stick to Charlie Rose on Hulu…
December 5th, 2008 at 6:04 pm
I am super upset about Lipstick Jungle being cancelled…. that it the worst news ever… I loved all 3 of the main character’s lives and stories… there was finally a comical, romantic, drama that all women could relate to… a great replacement for Sex in the City… since that show stopped, all have my friends and I have been watching Lipstick Jungle, as it fulfills something men don’t in our lives. Lipstick you will be missed by many! NBC -what a mistake to take this one hour of enjoyment out of my week… there is no substitute on the air…what will I do?
December 5th, 2008 at 7:00 pm
COME ON PEOPLE. WHEN ARE THE NETWORKS GOING TO STOP CANCELING EVERY GOOD SHOW. I LOVE LIPSTICK JUNGLE AND COULDN’T BE MORE UPSET WITH THIS NEWS. PLEASE, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, RETHINK THIS. THERE ARE A LOT OF US OUT HERE THAT LOVE THIS SHOW. YOUR AS BAD AS CBS, CANCELING MOONLIGHT AND ADDING THE EX LIST. COME ON. WHO CONTROLS THESE DECISIONS? MAYBE YOU SHOULD REPLACE THEM.
December 5th, 2008 at 7:42 pm
I wish NBC could cancel itself as network! I loved Lipstick Jungle and NBC executives have no idea what is entertaining television for intelligent women. Cancel Jeff Zucker as NBC executive, do all of us a favor!
December 7th, 2008 at 3:43 pm
Big mistake!!!!! I really liked the show.
December 9th, 2008 at 7:44 am
THIS IS NOT GOOD!!! TOO MANY PEOPLE LOVE THIS PROGRAM. I AGREE WITH THE PERSON WHO SAYS TO BOYCOTT MAYBELLINE. DON’T KNOW MUCH ABOUT WHO CONTROLS THESE DECISIONS AT NBC, BUT IT’S WORTH A TRY.
December 9th, 2008 at 10:44 am
This is my favorite show! The storylines are great and entertaining! The perfect ending after spending a long day as a stay at home mom!
December 10th, 2008 at 4:24 am
Lipstick Jungle is our whole family’s favorite show. It’s rediculous to cut it off, it’s one of the best show you have right now. Law and Order is good but not as good as LJ. At least it doesn’t have murders, detectives and violence. Please. please, please change your mind and cancel something else. It’s sucha great show! If you cancel, we’ve done with watching NBC
December 10th, 2008 at 9:10 am
I AM VERY ANGRY. i LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS PROGRAM. I AM SERIOUSLY ABOUT TO STOP WATCHING NBC COMPLETELY. AFTER NOW CANCELING TWO OF MY FAVORITE PROGRAMS. LAS VEGAS AND NOW LIPSTICK. HUH
December 10th, 2008 at 11:07 am
I can’t believe that another show I look forward to watching every week is cancelled. It is a great show and I can’t believe other sitcoms remain on that are so stupid and not funny or warm like Lipstick Jungle. It seems once I get into a weekly show; it gets cancelled like “Men In Trees”. What gives???
December 10th, 2008 at 1:11 pm
I guess I just don’t understand the ratings! Shows like this take awhile to get to know the characters and care enough about them to watch, and then they are cancelled as soon as they’ve had enough time to get an audience hooked. This show has so much going for it, and I’m so disappointed. It’s really the only show with a story line that I enjoy.
December 10th, 2008 at 7:13 pm
I am very dissappointed that Lipstick Jungle and Knight Rider are being cancelled I never miss a week and unlike some people I really enjoyed those shows.
December 10th, 2008 at 7:17 pm
I love this show and I don’t believe they have given it time to grow. This show is great why not leave it on and let us enjoy TV. This sucks
December 12th, 2008 at 1:02 pm
I am beyond bummed about the cancellation of Lipstick Jungle. I really liked the characters and the idea of the show. I absolutely loved Andrew Mccarthy being on the show. I’ve had a crush on him since I was a teenager. Give me and my friends one of those little boxes on our tv’s and they would see that it is being watched!
December 18th, 2008 at 4:50 pm
It has to be a rumor! Since the cancellation of Cashmere Mofia – this has been the best show! I love the fact that women can be successful! Even the men/husbands in our lives watch this one weekly. It is the ‘new’ watercooler talk every Friday. This is a true KEEPER!!
December 19th, 2008 at 6:53 am
I am super disappointed to hear about Lipstick Jungle cancelling. I only watch a couple of NBC shows, ER, Law & Order and this one. ER is in its last season unfortunately. I was really hoping to have a reason not to leave NBC completely, but yanking LJ just gave me a reason to give up on NBC completely. Clearly they are not marketing to our audience (women 25 – 50). NBC, is it a good idea to not be interested in pleasing such a large audience?? I think you need to reconsider this decision…it wasn’t smart.
December 21st, 2008 at 8:15 am
I am a UK follower of Lipstick Jungle and I am really, really dissapointed that NBC are cancelling it. I watch it on Living TV on a Monday night and really look forward to it. I love the characters, the fashion, the drama, the storylines and would like NBC to reconsider and not pull the plug on this fantastic show.
December 29th, 2008 at 12:10 am
I love Lipstick Jungle! Please don’t cancel this show!
January 7th, 2009 at 12:33 pm
How disappointing!!! Two of my favorite shows, MOWE and Lipstick are cancelled. Why should I start to watch any new show, when it is pulled so abruptly. You should poll your audience and let them decide. From the looks of the comments here, you who decided to pull these programs SUCK big time!!! I looked forward to seeing these shows each week. Shame, shame, shame on you executives for pulling my favorites.
January 11th, 2009 at 10:30 pm
I continue to watch Lipstick Jungle and think it is getting better with each episode. Wonderful acting, characters, plot lines. Great fashion! It’s got it all. Long live Lipstick Jungle!!!!! (Can you hear me, NBC?)
January 17th, 2009 at 7:34 pm
It was a good show with a good storyline until the last episode which stunk!! It was obvious that they just wanted to end it. Too bad! HBO should pick it up.
January 20th, 2009 at 11:13 am
I can’t believe my show “Lipstick Jungle” has been canceled. I looked forward to watching this show every week. Now what will I do! This show was funny, sad and heartfelt. I think NBC made a huge mistake canceling this show. God bless Lipstick Jungle!!!!!
January 21st, 2009 at 9:27 am
I cannot believe that they canceled LIPSTICK JUNGLE i love that show. But i know why they canceled it. Its because three women have something going for them selves theres not alot of sex in it. they are strong and busy, doing what they have to do. i bet you if the mian stars were male chovanist pigs running around whoring themselves through manhattan it would be a big hit. THIS STINKS BAD BAD BAD. Why is it that we women can’t have a show thats just clean to look at…… BASTERDS.
January 21st, 2009 at 12:32 pm
Not happy about lipstick jungle being cancelled. I along with my stepdaughter enjoy it and I am also not happy about it being cancelled. Move it to 101 with direct tv like they did with Fri.night lights. Commercial free.
Sam
January 21st, 2009 at 12:35 pm
Not Happy about the canceled Lipstick Jungle. I really enjoyed it and DVRed whenever I could’nt be home to watch. Move it to channel 101 with Direct TV, commercial free and it may do a lot better, It worked for Friday Night Lights.
Wanda
January 26th, 2009 at 12:56 pm
I will not accept this show is cancelled. I am about to buy season 1 and will watch it whenever I need to feel good about life.. I own the complete sex in the city and I need to know why NBC would cancel the one thing that got going for them. Sometimes you have to give things a chance. People talk. Word gets around.
Look at Mad Men. HBO turned it down. Look at Damages, Nip Tuck, Burn Notice, Starter wife. Bring this show back. Hire a few new writers. Spice it up with new actors. Lisa
April 14th, 2009 at 2:05 am
The only show that was certainly inspring in all aspects. The show is more than great and if some people find it boring i guess they are the ones who are. The story is very real and deep unlike other series which tackles non-sense issues.
