Griffin O’Neal: “My family is screwed up”
Actress Tatum O’Neal’s brother Griffin has distanced himself from his “screwed up family” in a bid to overcome his battle with drug addiction.
Griffin O’Neal spoke out following the arrests of his father Ryan and younger brother Redmond earlier this month (Sep08).
Redmond was allegedly found to be in possession of methamphetamine, while a vial of the drug was found in Ryan O’Neal’s bedroom at his Los Angeles home.
And Griffin – who battled drug addiction before getting clean in 2006 – admits he isn’t surprised by the arrests.
He tells People.com, “It’s a very screwed-up family. If you want to be emotionally healthy and strong, you’ve got to get out. It’s a truly sad situation.”
Ryan O’Neal’s lawyer declined to respond to Griffin’s comments, but is confident his client “will be fully vindicated of the drug charges”.

You notice it’s always someone’s elses fault. Family may not be a healthy relationship, but buck it up and take resonsibility for your own screw ups.
