Britney Spears is rapidly shedding the pounds as she makes her way back to the top.

And, according to an insider from within the Spears’ compound, she’s got a little extra help.

The source tells CelebTV.com that the weight loss is a result of a meal replacement shake called Lean1.

“She [Britney Spears] loves this new drink and it’s obviously working well for her,” insists the source.

The source, who is often in close proximity with the star and “cares” about the singer, says Spears orders the meal supplement shake online.

CelebTV.com contacted the CEO of Nutrition 53, four-time Super Bowl winner Bill Romanowski, and he could not divulge if Spears was taking the supplement.

However, Romanowski did say, “I have to be very careful to protect the people that do take my product. Most of Hollywood is taking Lean 1 right now. And, it’s the best tasting meal replacement and a lot of really high profile people have had pheonomenal results with it…you can put two and two together.”

So does that mean the “Toxic” singer isn’t eating?

Romanowski says he can’t predict how people use the product, but, he says, “They will replace it with a meal. It is kind of how extreme they want to get.”

Spears recently told OK! magazine: “I’m the healthiest I’ve been all my life. My diet has a lot to do with my getting into shape. I have no sugar. I don’t eat fruit or even fruit juice because of the sugar. I eat chicken and salmon and rice. I eat avocados. I’ll have egg whites for breakfast and sometimes turkey burgers for lunch.”

The song “Womanizer”, off of Spears’ much-anticipated album Circus, is set to be released Sept. 29.
