Helen Mirren returns to the stage
Helen Mirren is set to return to the stage for the first time in six years.
The Oscar winner will star in a three-month run of Jean Racine’s 17th-century drama, Phèdre, at London’s National Theater.
The actress has been in talks with the theatre’s director, Nicholas Hytner, for months after expressing an interest in starring in a theatre production.
Mirren will play the wife of Theseus, King of Athens, in the Greek tragedy.
