Drew Lachey will play host to some 50,000 fans expected flock into Times Square on Sept. 14 to kick off the new Broadway season that will find Katie Holmes, Daniel Radcliffe and Haley Joel Osment coming to the Great White Way.

The second-season Dancing with the Stars champ, currently appearing in the Tony-winning musical spoof Monty Python’s Spamalot, will be joined by other stars for the free Broadway on Broadway 2008 concert, according to the event’s organizers, the Broadway League and the Times Square Alliance, and its presenter, Continental Airlines.

“I am delighted to be a part of the Broadway community and I love this great city,” Lachey, who previously costarred in the New York production of Rent, said in a statement. “I look forward to showing the Broadway fans from New York and around the world just what we have to offer.”

Besides numbers from his own show, Lachey will introduce performances from the upcoming productions A Tale of Two Cities, Elton John’s Billy Elliott and 13, about a New York teen forced to move to Indiana when his parents divorce.

Cast members from such established shows as Avenue Q, Grease, Gypsy, Hairspray, Jersey Boys, Legally Blonde, Mamma Mia! and Wicked will also strut their stuff – all in anticipation of the gala’s grand finale: a “shower” of confetti, stretching from 43rd to 47th Streets, which will be closed to traffic.

“It is an honor to be hosting this year’s “Broadway on Broadway”],” says Lachey.

Sienna Miller shuns bodyguards and limousines – because she likes to pretend she isn’t famous.

She hit the headlines recently after pictures emerged of her frolicking with married Balthazar Getty last month. But despite the attentions of the paparazzi, Miller likes to make out she is not in the public eye and steers clear of the trappings of fame.

She says, “When I’m not working, I want to be myself. I don’t have assistants, bodyguards or even a driver because I try to pretend in my own head that this isn’t happening. I think a lot of actresses live in this cotton wool world but I’m very free-spirited and I want to be able to live the life I do.”

And, referring to her former relationship with Jude Law, she adds: “I was well known before I had a film out but I don’t court attention. I don’t go to other people’s premieres. I haven’t been out to a club in London for years.”

Adrien Grenier wanted his character on Entourage to be more environmentally friendly – until he realized it would make the show boring.

Grenier hassled series producers for years about trying to make his movie star character, Vincent Chase, more green-minded but they always ignored him.

And now he is glad that show bosses refused to give in to his demands – as it was for the good of viewers.

Grenier tells the New York Post’s PageSix magazine, “For years, I tried to get producers to have Vinny sell his Hummer (sports utility vehicle) and buy a (enviromentally friendly Toyota) Prius. Then, I realized this show is entertainment. I know that Entourage is often demeaning and crude, but there’s also a lot of social commentary.”

Reese Witherspoon took to the stage in Brazil in a bid to raise awareness of women affected by domestic violence.

The Legally Blonde star is touring the South American country as part of her duties as she is the global ambassador of Speak Out Against Domestic Violence campaign.

The initiative was launched by the UN Development Fund for Women (UNIFEM) and the Avon cosmetics company in 2004.
And Witherspoon is hoping her involvement will help stamp out the abuse of women – insisting she herself has been close to people who were the victims of domestic violence.

She told reporters in Sao Paulo on Thursday, “There isn’t a woman in the world that doesn’t have a friend or a partner who’s actually experiencing some sort of violence against them, so I think although domestic violence hasn’t happened to me personally, I certainly know women who are dealing with this struggle every day.”

And the star stated she felt motivated to help with the cause as the issue affects so many types of people.

She adds, “Domestic violence affects women who are famous, who are not famous, women who have money, women who have no money. This is an issue that crosses all boundaries and it certainly affects everyone.”

ET has confirmed that Rumer Willis will make a guest-starring appearance on Lifetime’s hit show “Army Wives.”

Willis, who will play the wife of a soldier who was injured while fighting in Iraq, will start production next week in Charlotte, North Carolina. You can catch Rumor’s episode on Lifetime on Oct. 12.

Rumer is currently a star of ‘The House Bunny”.
