Britney Spears has reportedly launched a bid to return to the MTV stage for the forthcoming Video Music Awards accompanied by U.S. Olympic champion Michael Phelps.

Sources say the eight-time Olympic gold medal winner is slated to appear as part of the outlandish awards show next month.

Rumors of Spears’ performance at the show were scrapped by manager Larry Rudolph earlier this week. But, according to magazine Us Weekly, the Toxic singer is desperate to appear on the show as a presenter.

A source tells the magazine: “She hopes to share the stage with Michael Phelps.”

The MTV VMAs show takes place on September 7th.

Madonna has been targeted in a new lawsuit – alleging she has failed to repay over $400,000 in loans taken to make a 2006 film.

According to the suit filed in Louisiana, Madonna, her manager Guy Oseary and their Maverick Motion Pictures company used financing from Jay Dykes Jr., of Dykes and Dykes LLC, to make Material Girls, starring pop stars Hilary and Haylie Duff.

As well as feeling shortchanged, Dykes also alleges he was never given the co-producer credit he claims to have purchased with the loan.

Chace Crawford is angry that bosses of an online dating website have used his image in an unauthorized attempt to boost membership.

Crawford is pictured in the ad on match-making website WooMe.com alongside a tagline that reads: “Find guys and girls near you.”

But the 23-year-old insists bosses at the site – which links members via webcam – never officially hired him as the face of their brand.

Crawford’s representative tells the New York Daily News, “They had no right to use his name or photo. He is not the spokesperson.”

A spokesperson for the website is yet to comment.

Russell Brand is desperate to begin work on his new film Get Him to the Greek – because his drug-addicted character is a reminder of his past.

Brand has been cast to reprise his Forgetting Sarah Marshall role as Aldous Snow – a rock star struggling to stay sober – in the forthcoming comedy.

And he’s convinced playing a relapsed junkie will be therapeutic – because former addict Brand quit drugs and alcohol in 2003.

He says, “The opportunity to revisit it (drugs) without the consequences is exciting. I might even find a way of justifying using actual drugs. It’s like, ‘Well, this is acting. Come on’.”

A solid gold statue of supermodel Kate Moss is to go on display at the British Museum.

The sculpture, valued at $2.8 million, has been crafted by artist Marc Quinn.

Tipping the scales at 110 pounds, it is believed to be the largest gold statue built since the time of ancient Egypt.

Quinn says he chose Moss because she was the closest model to human perfection he could find.

He adds: “I thought the next thing to do would be to make a sculpture of the person who is the ideal beauty of the moment. But even Kate Moss doesn’t live up to the image.”

The Moss statue will be exhibited at the British Museum in October.

If you have something to say to me, say it to my face- that’s what i have believed my whole life- don’t be a coward and say it to others first, let alone all the media in the world- i think we know where the rest of this blog is going…

If you guessed it had to do with my father- then you guessed right! It really hurts, because i have tried- after all that my mother and siblings have gone through, i really tried to make things work- For the hope of having a father again-wanting things to change- even though people have said, some people will forever remain the same.

Having said that- the people were right, and he is yet to change- but this time, without his daughter by his side- He has become a public embaressment and a bully- To my family, my co-workers, my friends, and a girl that means the world to me (its obvious who that is).

He has no idea what is going on in my life because i have chosen not to involve him in it- His recent attack on my life and my loved ones is simply for an ADDICTION THAT HE HAS- FAME. Why he feels the need to comment on anything in my life that i may want to keep private, is beyond comprehension- If he really cared about me and my life, then he would learn to respect my wishes by staying out of it.

Samantha has not and would never sell me out. Nor has my mother, who is wonderful.

This further proves that any information that my father has about me or the people in my life is internet based- and about as accurate as a page six item.

I’m not going to engage any further, though i probably could go on…

I have said enough, i have a therapist, and it is not the the camera man at x17.
