Jamie Lynn Spears gives birth to a daughter!
Jamie Lynn Spears and her fiancé Casey Aldridge welcomed a baby girl Thursday morning.
PEOPLE confirms exclusively that the baby was named Maddie Briann.
“Just the family was there,” says a source about the birth around 9:30 a.m. at a hospital in Mississippi, near her Louisiana hometown. “Everyone is healthy and happy.”
Jamie Lynn’s sister Britney, father Jamie and brother Bryan flew in Wednesday to be with her for the birth; her mother Lynne had been with her helping her get ready for the baby.

..seriously? Who says having a baby is the end of your life? It isn’t..there are many of single mom’s that have went on with their hopes and dreams after giving birth..I am not in any way saying it is okay to give birth to a child when you are a child yourself but to say “she can kiss her hopes and dreams good-bye” is just sad

is it bad that my first thought was ‘oh, how sad, another spears girl’? i was sort of hoping she’d have a boy who even could behave the same as them, except, you know, never be held accountable. although hopefully jamie lynn learned from all her mom’s mistakes.

hopefully Jamie becomes a good mother to her daughter maddie. She made a mistake but, hopefully she learns from it and makes a good situation out of a bad one.

Having a child is NOT the end of your life! She may have just got a little bit too excited about something, and he got excited too, and you know the rest. But anyways, did she give birth already, or is she due on June 29th, because there are like a gazillion articles stating both????

There is still so much to learn at 17. I really don’t think you CAN be a good “mom” at that age. I think the child will be treated more like a little sister and Jamie Lynn’s own mother will act as the mom (not that that’s a good thing either AT ALL) I just know there is a HUGE dif between the person I am now, and the person I was a 17.
Yeah. This is sad. But I wish all the best for the child. She’ll need it.
