Maggie Gyllenhaal blasts media’s disrespect after Heath Ledger’s death

Maggie Gyllenhaal has hit out at the media for their reporting tactics after the death of fellow actor Heath Ledger - branding the industry “disrespectful”.
The Secretary star blasted journalists for their style of reporting after the tragic death of the Australian actor, insisting she was “shocked” by the way they tackled the sensitive issue.
Gyllenhaal starred opposite Ledger in his final full film, The Dark Knight, in which he stars as Batman’s nemesis, The Joker.
And the actress - whose brother, Jake Gyllenhaal, featured alongside Ledger in 2005’s Brokeback Mountain - reveals her co-star and friend’s untimely death has taken its toll on her.
She tells Britain’s Empire magazine, “It’s hard to talk about how it’s (Ledger’s death) affected me personally. It’s been really hard for me.” (And) the media has shocked me with the way that they’ve been disrespectful in some ways.”
Ledger was found dead in his New York apartment in January. Toxicology reports released a month later state he was killed by an accidental overdose of prescribed medication.

Um, he was a selfish drug addict that forgot his girlfriend and child and decided to play ‘I dare ya..?’ with the devil and God.

These actors they all think they are Gods and that everyone of them are due so much respect. Heath lived a debauched life and the press treated him accordingly.

I hope gumball and JanePitt go straight to Hell, since they are so righteous.

Gumball and JanePitt are perfect examples of how the disrespect Gyllenhaal spoke of effects the public. Did either of you know the guy?
NO
No reports indicated that Ledger was a “junkie” or abuser. He had some problems sleeping after his fiancee left him with their daughter. The meds he was on interacted and inadvertently caused his death. I worked in kidney dialysis for ten years and I saw it happen too frequently. Many patients who are on multiple meds from different specialist MD’s can unknowingly overdose as they lack the medical knowledge to know exactly what is in everything they take. Ledger is no more a self-righteous junkie than any of the sweet little old church ladies I saw die from the same thing.
It’s comforting to know there are so many people in this country that judge people solely on the knowledge that they’re actors.
And, Blondey, don’t worry. If there is a Hell, Gumball and JanePitt will be there.
