Sex & The City producers under fire from New Yorkers

Sex

The makers of Sex & The City: The Movie have come under fire from New Yorkers – because they are not premiering the movie in the city.

The film will premiere in London, two weeks before it is unveiled in its spiritual home of New York on May 12th.

But the move by producers at New Line Cinema has sparked widespread criticism from those who believe the film should premiere in the city – the home of the award-winning TV series.

However, the company claims its New York premiere will be just as spectacular as the London opening with a huge party at the famous Radio City Music Hall on May 27th.

A spokesperson for the film company tells the New York Daily News, “It was simply a question of logistics and scheduling. We’re still planning the big premiere to be in New York. Everyone knows New York City is the fifth character. The city is the epicenter of all things Sex and the City.”

Pete Wentz is being sued for alleged assault

Pete Wentz

After a few blissful weeks of engagment announcements and baby rumors, the other shoe has finally dropped for Fall Out Boy, Pete Wentz.

TMZ is reporting the rocker is being sued by a man who claims he and his security team beat him within an inch of his life, during a Fall Out Boy show last year.

Andy Kallas says he was watching the band perform at Schuba’s Tavern in Chicago, when Wentz and his posse began beating on him for several minutes. Kallas says the fight was completely unprovoked and came out of nowhere, however other sources say Kallas was being loud during the show, heckling the band, and shouting obnoxious things just prior to the fight.

A spokesperson for Pete tells OK!, “This case is meritless. We looked into it and the facts don’t support his claims. We will vigorously defend this case in court.”

Kallas is suing both Pete and the Chicago club for unspecified amounts in damages, claiming he suffered “serious injuries to his head, mouth and face.”

Second former nanny files suit against Rob Lowe

Rob Lowe

And now, a new twist to the Rob Lowe nanny fiasco.

Extra has confirmed that a second former nanny has filed court papers against the Brothers & Sisters star.

On Wednesday, Laura Boyce filed a countersuit against Lowe. She is currently being sued by the actor–allegedly for violating a confidentiality agreement while she was working for his family.

In a not-so-surprising development, Gloria Allred has taken Boyce under her legal wing, which is convenient because the famed attorney also represents Jessica Gibson, the first nanny to file suit against Lowe.

Allegedly, Gibson claims Rob sexually harassed her. He says she tried to extort $1.5 million from him.

We just want to take this opportunity to make sure everyone understands who’s suing who and who allegedly did what.

Anne Hathaway’s boyfriend pays $1.3 million to end lawsuit

Anne Hathaway & Raffaelo Follieri

Anne Hathaway’s boyfriend Raffaelo Follieri has agreed to pay $1.3 million to settle a lawsuit with billionaire Ron Burkle.

Italian businessman Follieri was sued by Burkle last year when the U.S. supermarket tycoon accused him of squandering the sum to support his lavish lifestyle.

A Delaware judge dismissed Burkle’s lawsuit on Friday after the pair announced they had already reached an agreement, though Follieri initially denied the charges.

Burkle first teamed up with Follieri on the purchase of distressed Catholic church properties.

Earlier this month, Follieri was arrested and charged with trying to pass a bad check, reportedly for around $250,000. He is reportedly now working with police to sort what he claims is a misunderstanding.
