Patrick Swayze is baffled by claims he is taking time out from cancer treatment to star in a sequel to 1991 surfing movie Point Break.
W. Peter Iliff, who wrote the screenplay for the original movie, has penned a follow-up, and insists Swayze will reprise his role as bank-robbing surfer Bodhi and co-star Keanu Reeves is onboard to play F.B.I. agent Johnny Utah.
He tells Us Weekly magazine, “We always wanted Patrick to return. He’ll definitely be surfing.”
Swayze was diagnosed with deadly pancreatic cancer last month, but Iliff adds of the actor’s health: “Things are going well, he’s fighting the good fight.”
On Wednesday Swayze issued a statement revealing he is responding well to cancer treatment – but his representative insists he will not be taking part in a Point Break sequel.

Dylan McDermott will represent himself in his upcoming divorce hearing.
McDermott, 46, filed for divorce from his wife of 11 years, Shiva Rose, earlier this month.
And, according to the New York Post, the actor – who spent seven years playing a litigator on hit TV show The Practice – will be handling the case in propria persona, acting as his own attorney.
The star has cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split, following his announcement of the pair’s separation in September last year.
McDermott and Rose have two daughters: 12-year-old Collette Blu and two-year-old Charlotte Rose. The actor is reportedly seeking joint custody.

Jack Nicholson’s alleged penchant for prostitutes has been outed in former co-star Debra Winger’s new autobiography Undiscovered.
Winger joined Nicholson on the big screen in 1983 Oscar-winning movie Terms of Endearment, co-starring Danny DeVito and Shirley MacLaine.
And among her own intimate revelations, the actress recalls a shocking encounter with Nicholson after the pair landed in Germany to promote the movie.
She writes, “I had never been there (to Germany) and was relentlessly joking with Jack (Nicholson) about how I, as a Jew, would be treated. He finally told me to stop, that these paranoid fantasies had little to do with modern Germany and that I should relax and enjoy the trip – and perhaps join him on his search for the perfect brothel.”
Winger’s book – her first – is slated for release next month.

Hulk Hogan and his family have been chastized by the parents of the teenager left critically injured by their son Nick’s 2007 car crash.
Nick Bollea, 17, is currently serving an eight-month prison sentence at Florida’s Pinellas County Jail, after pleading no contest to felony reckless driving following a horrific car crash in Clearwater, Florida – which has left his friend John Graziano brain damaged.
But Graziano’s parents Ed and Debra are furious at the teenager’s lack of remorse, after hearing Nick discuss plans to win an early release from jail in taped telephone conversations that were leaked online at the weekend.
On the tapes, obtained by website TMZ.com, Bollea can be heard telling his dad that he wants to turn up for a court hearing “in my jumpsuit, for the sympathetic factor”.
A statement released by the Grazianos via their lawyers reads: “These tapes clearly show what the Bolleas said in court was calculated to give the Court the impression that Nick deserved a break. It was a true Academy Award performance. They (the Bollea family) spoke of their love for John and they expressed how sorry they were, but their true feelings have now been revealed in the tapes…”
The Grazianos also blast the Bolleas for trying to cash in on their grief – by turning Nick’s prison stint into a money-spinning reality TV show.
They add: “Nick Bollea and Terry Bollea are already planning a new reality show. Cameras are set to film Nick Bollea as he is released from jail and while he serves his probation.”
Ed Graziano goes on to say: “The reason he (Nick) was put in jail is to think about what he did to my son. (But) that’s the last thought on his mind.”

Rob Lowe’s attempts to dismiss a lawsuit filed against his former chef will “blow up in his face”, according to the attorney representing his two ex-childminders.
The former West Wing star has been locked in a legal battle with his three previous employees since April.
Nannies Jessica Gibson and Laura Boyce have both accused Lowe of sexual harassment, while cook Peter Clements filed suit against the star and his family for wrongful termination.
Lowe and his wife Sheryl have vehemently denied all claims and hit back with their own lawsuits, claiming they’re the victims of an attempted extortion scheme, led by Gibson.
However, Lowe moved to have his accusations against Clements dropped on Friday, after the chef reportedly agreed to provide information about Gibson and Boyce to help the actor’s case against them.
But Gloria Allred, the nannies’ lawyer, has slammed Lowe’s tactics – and insists the purported deal he’s reached with Clements will do nothing to benefit his legal cases against her clients.
She tells TMZ.com, “We believe that Mr. Lowe’s latest legal maneuvre will blow up in his face and will not get him out of the hot soup that he has landed in because of the two lawsuits that we have filed against him.
“Whatever Mr. Lowe has attempted to cook up smells bad – and will leave a lasting bad taste in his attempts to go after two innocent nannies who loved and cared for his children.”
The Lowes’ suit against Clements is expected to be formally dismissed later this week.
Clements is also due to drop his accusations against the Lowes.

George Clooney has broken up with Sarah Larson after nearly a year of dating.
According to a friend of Sarah’s, the Leatherheads star recently moved out of his LA home while the 29-year-old former Las Vegas cocktail waitress removed her belongings.
“George is relieved to be single again,” says an insider. “He thinks Sarah is sweet and that is why it was so hard to break up with her.”
As In Touch previously reported, George, 47, and Sarah struggled to make their relationship work because of their different backgrounds. “The truth is they had little in common and he just doesn’t want to be tied down,” explains the insider.
George’s rep told In Touch: “I can only confirm that we have never commented on George’s personal life.”
